Wimbledon is off too.

I think we can safely say pretty much everything is off for the next 6 months.

Anything massive that needs months of prep work.... Small music festivals and the such like should be fine from July onwards

Italy:
Deaths: 727
Recovered: 1,118
People tested positive: 2,937
Total:4,782

Quarantine extended to 13th April.

Deaths down by 110, new cases up 800, and fewer recovered. But I don't think the jump is big enough to say that the Italy slowdown has reversed, more like another day of flattening out without any spike or large reduction... would you agree or is that wrong? Looks like a stable day as opposed to any significant movement either way.

I would agree with that but I think it’ll be a couple of weeks still until the ‘green shots’ appear.
Each address has had masks delivered, we got 4 yesterday.

The NHS is swamped but we've got staff sat at home because they haven't been tested.

Its a tragedy that it had to get to this point for people to actually drop the politics and agree that the govt are making an emormous mess & putting peoples' lives at risk every single day, with their failure to test, failure to provide equipment, failure to provide PPE, along with the constant bullshit, lies & excuses. At least one thing was sadly predictable- soon as something big comes along to deal with Boris goes into hiding.

Have you not seen the anti-NHS propaganda already being touted by people like Isobel Oakeshott? The narrative is already being prepared for us all- “the NHS is not equipped, it can’t cope, we need to improve it”- and ‘improve’ means privatise. In fairness she got ripped to shreds along with the others, but that’s the agenda and they won’t stop.

Agreed and has been going on for sometime. As much as I would like to believe they couldn't convince the public all these dodgy think tanks, many American funded, are pushing this hard through their "journalists" and "commentators" who are semi-permanent fixtures on Question Time. The idea is taking root, I've heard people say things like "we can't afford the NHS".

Many of the individuals selling the narrative are the same that sold Brexit to us.

Oh yeah there’s a definite effort pushed by money from the States. See the Turning Point UK shite all over my FB feed.

I just have more faith in the British public. Maybe naively but still.

Is this a slight drop mate or stable ?
I think relatively stable overall, they are being cautious during the daily briefings and claiming the peak will be next week. I’m wondering if it’s now though and they’re just being cautious.

Guys....I live in NYC. Few people asked me if i've considered coming home while this is all going on...

Any thoughts? Obviously NYC is the epicentre but wondering if its any better back home really? IDK. Closer to family would be good i guess.

Side note i'm pretty sure I already had mild symptoms about 2 weeks ago. Feel fine now. Working from home for the foreseeable.

Wonder how much of this is people signing up temporarily and how much is job losses, still crazy numbers.

Fair play to Eddie Howe and some of his Bournemouth staff for taking paycuts.

The Premier League players should also morally donate some wages to cover off the staff that are potentially going to be furloughed.

I joke Spurs have spoke to Ring of Steel first as furlough is a false lie from the government

If I was a PL footballer I'd feel pretty guilty seeing out quarantine in my huge mansion while the club staff are worrying about how they're going to pay the bills. The amount of money we're talking about would be peanuts to first team players.

Yes, it seems morally wrong that the players are still receiving their full salaries, but staff at some clubs are having to take the 20% pay cut, it should be the other way round.
