My dad was a butcher and I saw abattoirs in action- there is no way on earth the animals don't know or sense whats coming. Its the most horrific, horrible thing you could ever imagine and it stays with you, watching them try to escape. Thats why I don't eat meat. I've no issue with anyone else eating meat, not a holier than thou type- but nope, not for me any more.
I Agree, glad you say that,I still partake.
On that holier bit though ,are you sure.Lol :)

I geninely wouldn't be surprised to see if reach the same level as here.

134 in a day is 536 every four days, which basically doubles it as it has been doing. Extrapolating forward you’d guess we’d hit Italy levels in 3 and a bit doublings, or just under 12 days.

Isn't the huge rise coinciding with loads more tests being done? I read that places are doing drive thru tests etc so more people who didn't realise are probably being tested.

Is there a stat to show how many tested as to how many have it?

Not here at least. We only test if you’ve been to a hotspot or met a confirmed case, and are showing symptoms. Wales do drive thru testing but you still have to be told to do it, you can’t grab a coffee and a test on your lunchbreak

Would be good to see testing rates compared to other countries though.

Strangely that was dismissed as being the reason here by a poster, despite loads more testing going on, instead it was down to illegal immigrants in a region over 300km from the epicentre :D

Maybe, we refused to test people didn't we unless you showed symtoms or had been near someone who had it. The countries that locked it down fast made sure everyone was tested.

2 more people have died too

Without opening up the discussions about SARS 1 vs SARS 2, Swine Fever, Seasonal Fu etc, what is the point of posting this. Should we have running count of how many people caught a cold today or died from influenza, either directly or as a co-morbid factor.

It's stupid.

Sorry, this really ought to be in the things that annoy you thread...

Well when the country is having to literally choose who lives or dies based upon the resources available, maybe it won't be stupid. That is the reality here now.

The way Chinese treat animals is disgusting but I bet you lot have had KFC where the animals don't even get to walk they're so fat in their short lives or battery eggs where the chickens never get to move or foie gras where they force feed an animal until it is ready to burst.

We'd have a leg to stand on about their practices if we weren't still barbaric hypocrites. Theirs is just out in the open instead of hidden in a slaughter house.

The demand for cheap meat is so high that the government are handing out grants left right and centre to farmers to build KFC type chicken torture houses. My sister lives in the countryside and two huge chicken sheds popped up recently. No windows or lights for the chickens and no one gives a fuck.

Pig houses are also the new in thing, with over 50% being exported to China. The pigs generate massive amounts of highly potent slurry that is terrible for the environment but farmers either just keep spraying it on the same fields or dump it into rivers which both are extremely toxic for the eco system.

The government turn a blind eye of course.

Of course, that's the case. On the one hand, it adds to the contagion of fear (whereas we don't get figures for other virus contracted each day) but it will provide a more sound base for understanding what the precise mortality rate is (co-morbidity or otherwise)

Yeah the desire for cheap meat drives this sort of thing, yet people get upeset about animal cruely but don't question why or how the meat they get is so cheap.

Super computer based on form for relegation and top 2....

Play offs - Fuck knows!

Maybe 3rd place?

Assuming the players don't come down with it (did someone say 3 Leicester players have symptoms?) and they don't want to close all the games out, I would hazard a guess that the fairest way is to go direct to the playoffs behind closed doors... Wycombe have the major grudge then as they have a game in hand and could be in the top 6, so you'd have to equalise that.

Sunderland would be screwed :)

Why would they have a major grudge? Sim the season and results via form so there game in hand would count

Because if you awarded Wycombe their average points per game for the game in hand, the team they replace argues that there was no way of knowing if Wycombe would have won or drew that game.
