The background to that was that a company providing a particular service to the club were were told in November to 'stand down' in January on the basis that service would no longer be required and they were on a two week notice in December as it was suggested we could return before Christmas, so I just repeated that, which was probably foolish. The only feedback I got was there was a major snag in talks in December and it was made clear we'd be there all season, which around the time tickets for fixtures beyond January were released for sale. Don't know anything beyond that, but I have learned to keep my trap shut in future
Thanks for that ferret, not trying to make you wriggle.
Appreciate your efforts.

I read all the moralising on here, and just think "what a load of self indulgent twaddle".

To be blunt (and not seeking any sympathy) , I've just lost a twin sister aged 35, she was a big City fan like me.

The term "life's too short" has never felt so apt.
That’s awful. So sorry for your loss

Might be a spare stadium going Peterborough in a couple of years
Peterborough United kick off plans for new stadium
John Holdich, leader of Peterborough City Council, said the club generated £7m for the local economy every year
Interestingly their current ground is owned by the council. When MacAnthony refused to pay the rent saying it was too high, their council reduced it by 40% and agreed to spend £1m on ground improvements. Now their council are doing everything they can to help them move to a new city centre stadium.

I guess that's what happens when you negotiate in good faith instead of moving to someone else's ground(sixfields)out of spite and start making demands that your in no position to do.

Didn't Coventry city council pay for the finishing off of the ricoh or did father Christmas pay for it?

No they forced a loan on ACL which has hampered them ever since

Knowing what MacAnthony is like he wouldn't of acted in good faith at all. He throws his toys out the pram on a regular basis - you only have to take a glance at his Twitter feed to come to that conclusion. The only thing it shows is that our council is full to the brim with egos and are vindictive.

There was that offer of £400,000 rent.
Always thought refusing that was a massive unnecessary gamble .
Who knows how it may have progressed beyond that?
Much fun could be had speculating around that one

It wasn't vacant when Wasps bought it.
So what? Theyd left it vacant for over a year and repeatedly stated they didn't want it and were gonna build their own. The council just wanted shot of the whole mess. Yes wasps were a godsend I guess as it was turning into a white elephant and yes they sold it out of spite I believe to piss sisu off and ultimately to wash their hands of our owners.

Probably. It’s why I try and look at the present and the future and affect that rather than bore everyone over the past

No we don't know everything we probably never will do. But what we do know is that whilst SISU have made horrendous and unnecessary mistakes in the past, the council are still to this day making both them and more importantly us, by association, pay the price. Do you think that's right?

This is the mistake you seem to make. They have washed their hands of the city's football club, not the owners.

If SISU go tomorrow, Wasps still have the lease on the Ricoh.

Why paint the club and SISU with the same brush though? They seemed to willingly sacrifice the club quite easily without a second thought if it meant getting rid of SISU. Does that not explicitly show that egos in the council's camp got ahead of what's in the best interests of the city?

Yeah I know but why have they done that? How bad must things have been for them to do that?
