If it's us vs Bristol you can guarantee JCH will be up for it - he'd either score a hat-trick or get sent off

I would rather Plymouth away than Bristol. Better ground if they have finished their work and worse team. Went to both last year and we didn't turn up in either game so scores to settle. Overall a decent chance to reach round 4 and the prize money that brings. Also the longer were in the cup the more likely we are to get a big draw.

Id rather us get knocked out in the replay. Keep the players minds on the league, less fixture congestion and injuries. We will never win it so lets get our minds on the league

This is a completely short sighted viewpoint. At a time when the club's income has been hit by our small home crowds at St Andrews we cannot give up on the extra revenue getting through each round of the cup offers, never mind the prospect of a bumper pay day should we draw the likes of Liverpool later on. It eases pressure on retaining our better players in the upcoming transfer widow and provides MR with more leeway in the transfer market generally. Worst of all I hate it when our fans disrespect the trophy that represents the greatest moment in our club's history.

No one is disrespecting the fa cup. Its about being realistic and prioritising the needs of the club.
Promotion to the championship is far more important to the long term success of our club than progressing to the next round of a competition we have zero chance of winning.

the chances of getting through a replay, getting through round three and then drawing a plum tie against one of the big 6 at home is pretty slim and would it really bring in the crowds and revenue you think.

the playoffs or promotion i would argue would be a bigger money earner

Its a 100% fact that a tie against any of the big six would see a sell out at St Andrews. To suggest otherwise is lunacy.

Agree with this. Try to win every game we play, and yes, never forget the greatest day in our history. There are enough Managers, Administrators and fans out there disrespecting the FA Cup. For me, I always want to be in the draw for the next round. Just a shame that our draws in recent seasons have been pretty uninteresting. About time we got a Tottenham/Liverpool/ Man City away, and made some money (despite the hiding!)

You do realise there's a separate forum for anything not CCFC related on here don't you?

Not the hardest of ties for us if we get through next week. However no game for us 3rd round weekend if we don’t win it.

Me too. B. Rovers was the time we got smashed on Boxing Day, and my trip to Plymouth was the Ruben Lameiras show last season.

snap! Boxing Day in Bristol was bitterly cold, typical Slade performance. Last season was the same old story, should’ve been out of sight yet punished by a former player.
