Bayliss off? (1 Viewer)

Which is not the sort of message that has been otherwise implied, and means that any more than a season at St Andrews will be disastrous.

I know its the eve of a new season and rightly everyone should be excited and optimistic, but i i think a lot more fans need to open their eyes and take in that thought fp

Have said before it isn't just CCFC cutting their cloth accordingly and there is a danger that there is no way back to Coventry in a year or mores time.

Assuming a return is in the planning of course. I would take some convincing that our owners have not planned their strategy long term in all this. But so will other parties

You would hope so. but it is really just stirring the same pot around to cover player purchases and wages. The most he can spend is 60%. But that is restricted to the timing of funds actually received and the SCMP is reviewed every 3 months ( is my understanding). I think a lot of fans will think the club has £3m to spend now (Bayliss & Chaplin) and there isn't.

There is also the thought that having paid out fees already that these new player sale fees in part are needed simply to balance out the SCMP budget not just provide new funds going forward. If Bayilss has been hawked around as some suggest then that could be a reason.

It isnt about the profit at end of the season it is about the cash flow

The 2018 figures showed a cash flow surplus of £384k only after player sales of £980k and loans from owners £500k. So "normal" trading would seem to indicate an operational cash flow deficit of £1.1m. If we assume that match income will close to halve thats another £1m+ to find but there will be a drop in commercial income too say £500k (possibly more). Then of course there are, i assume, increased costs of operating from St Andrews (increased rent? coach subsidies, set up costs etc) . Could easily be a cash flow shortage of £3m to find. Doesnt leave a lot in the pot for players. Any more than that and that means further loans from the owners it would seem

Not to mention the fact that the reduced match day income and commercial income directly affects what can be spent on players to meet the SCMP in the first place

The finances at CCFC i would think are very very tight

agreed. There is yet to be a single word from our owners on the plan to get back to Coventry. I get some things could be happening behind the scenes, but surely it would make sense to keep communicating with fans to get them onside and turn up in the hope this is a short term measure

I understand very much that the club has to sell its players, have a look at my post history. I am just utterly pissed off with the timing and messages surrounding this, it is as underhand as anything they've ever done.

Being realistic what are you expecting them to say?

Wasps are making unreasonable demands so the route back to the Ricoh is blocked by them - nothing the club can do about that.

As for a new ground, if you believe there is any chance of that ever materialising, we were told they'd made enquires about a site owned by the council but were struggling to get a response.

If they just release 'nothing has changed' statements every few weeks it would just stir up the people who like to moan.

I agree he has, rovers are skint though ,just passing on what guys down ewood social said last night, more chance of knitting fog than getting him

Disappointed if we wanted to sell it should have been done earlier, I also think we are struggling for quality in the middle of midfield and this won’t help anybody who thinks Shipley can replace him have a good look at yourself

We've got more chance of getting Dominic Samuel on loan, although he was out for nearly all of last season with an ACL injury.

Must have been planned then as Shipley has been chosen over him all pre season

Quite possibly, but you could argue that Shipley had a good end of season while Bayliss was out injured, and deserves to keep the shirt.

.

I could very easily draft a letter updating on Ricoh, Woodlands site and CCC responses to the clubs request for them to identify potential sites for review within the city boundary. A monthly update on this, showing fans all activity they are doing to try and get back would get fans on side and built up a "us v them" mentality.

Dare I say it, but that'd need some activity...

that's more the concern. You'd have to think if they are doing a lot of activity an update on this would be very simple. As ChiefDave has said, updating on "nothing has changed" may well tell us their level of activity

Don't fancy our chances much if Liam kelly gets an injury. Some important business to get right now.

I think you may be right

- The infamous Hickman video stating he was off
- Allen being brought in looking increasingly as if he was Bayliss' replacement
- Shipley being preferred in pre-season.

But it doesn't create an us vs them mentality. If it did you'd have the trust, telegraph and CWR hammering Wasps and the council. In reality they all appear terrified of upsetting them. All that would happen is the club would report nothing has changed and there would be hundreds of abusive comments for the social media admin to deal with.

You say all activity but as I asked before what are you realistically expecting them to do? I'm not seeing a whole lot of short term options past a return to the Ricoh and that is not currently an option for the club.

i'm not seeing a lot of long terms options either ?

"what are you realistically expecting them to do"

Start by confirming in comuncation that their priority is to get back to Coventry ASAP. Then..

1) reiterate their stance that they would happily move back to ricoh if wasps remove the indemnity clause
2) update on woodlands site and where they are at with that, is the ball in SISU court or CCC ?
3) update on last communication with the ccc around request for them to help with finding a site, have they identified any, have they not responded ? If they have identified a site or two, update on due diligence on these. If they haven't ,update on when next request will be submitted to CCC
4) update on any potential sites found near the city boundaries and update on if the EFL would support a move to one of these sites

That would be a great start...

surely there is only one reason that the club would report that "nothing has changed" ?.

There must have been some activity on their behalf in the last 8 weeks on any or all of the above ?
