Easy to find out if it’s true if as Fisher has claimed it is due to be announced soon then the local Rugby authority and Warwickshire constabulary will have been consulted atleast we can find that out Monday on foi.
I’ll comment on what I think about when I know if it’s true or not.

Yes owned by I think Brian Melvin who owns Melbros they are also the chief sponsors. Interestingly they play in SKY BLUE .
So those who have paid for a private seat licence at the Ricoh will able to take the seat too Rugby Town FC with them and put them in the temporary stands. LOL.

Any pubs close?
The Clifton Inn is the nearest. Used to be full of council tenants from the high rise flats at Biart Place
Butler Leap also close. That's more family orientated.
All the pubs in the town centre are walkable to the ground, unless you're pissed.

No way Butlin Road could be extended to 9,000. The only real space for a decent size temporary stand is behind one of the goals but that would mean sacrificing a 3G pitch which surely wouldn't happen.

I haven’t been there for a few years but if it is still the same, there was only one fairly narrow cul de sac up to the ground. I am pretty sure that there were only one set of entrances, beside the social club. That would be a real problem getting a few thousand “home” fans in, never mind the problem of segregation. I think a lot of work would need to be done on the infrastructure. The ground itself is neat and tidy, bigger and better than Nuneaton. There is a large grassed area in front of the ground and Astro turf pitches beside it. I think the railway line runs alongside the terrace opposite the social club. I am not sure if there would be space for temporary stands etc.
I didn’t go to Northampton but I would go this time. Sisu still the main protagonist in all of this mess but the club itself needs support to survive the current parasites who own us. My fear would be that if gates are reasonable it may suit Sisu to simply leave the club outside of Coventry waiting for Wasps to fail.
Parking around Rugby FC would be very difficult. Best to park in Clifton village and walk up the hill for 15 mins. They won't know what's hit them.

Anyway, with respect to the OP, if Fisher had really said this today at the game to a " bunch of people " it would have spread like wildfire and be all over social media by now. I smell BS.

It will be better than the Ricoh since it will be packed with supporters close to the pitch. Opposing teams will hate coming there.
Since it will be a sell-out every game, the ticket prices can stay the same or go up since supply will be very limited.
Good for the club, not so good for the fans.

Tim Fisher is the man who, nearly 3 weeks ago, told talksport that there would be some good news coming to Coventry fans within a fortnight and that the EFL had informed him that we had to play within 6 miles of the centre of Coventry .

Shame you've got to move out, but hey ho, we're bugger than you, so, tough.

How do you feel about it? Any chance Rugby fans would follow the City too?
Rugby is essentially a CCFC town. There are a fair number of Leicester fans here but I remember when both teams were in the Premier league Cov had the biggest following.

Straight line measurement from Cov centre to Rugby centre is approx. 10½ miles.

I would think that the temporary stands need planing permission also.

We won’t go easy!
Personally think it’s a great opportunity.
You'll definitely get a good turn out from Rugby people. I take it you’ll be reciprocal with that?

I wond go there out of protest cos it’s further. If they found a ground closer to me I’d go cos I want to keep the club going.
