For me it doesn't matter if we believe it or not. We've wanted the legals dropped, here is the olive branch. If it turns out to be a load of BS what do we lose, we're hardly going to be worse off.

Choosing to not believe it and therefore letting the council off means SISU can just sit back and whenever anyone criticises them say they tried but the council refused to help. Call there bluff, there is literally nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Ah, but when I said Sisu should drop the legals and call Wasps' bluff I got shot down.

Sisu should name the sites. Any talk of a new stadium has been complete pie in the sky and we know this to be fact. Statements about announcements in three weeks, artists impressions and nothing has ever been named or indeed, happened. We even at one point tried to piggy back on the back of Cov rugby's plans.

Name the sites.

Fisher made a statement once that Ryton land (referring to old Peugot factory site) was too expensive.

The land I'm referring too isn't far from that site, the site Fisher mentioned was about twice the size of what would be required for a stadium and was purchased late 2013.

There's two in the thread already. There was another, think it was up by the MTC, Kieran (chap that used to do social media for the club) mentioned after he had left. Had a big argument with Gilbert over it if I recall correctly as Gilbert wasn't interested in the story.

We also know that there was something to the story about the Butts.

I'm not as confident as you, just look at Glasgow Rangers a few seasons ago?

It'll be short term thinking by the club's I believe i.e. "Oooh we won't be relegated this season due to Coventrys demise!"

That’s only six teams though it needs a lot more than that to vote us out

SISU - what a load of crap they talk. They still bluff at a time like this trying to make out they are not the bad guy. They will never invest anything close to building another stadium.
These owners are so transparent, it's unreal. This is the best they come up with after all this time?

Just finished reading it all.

I think this is the first time we have been able to see a balanced argument (by providing the other side) . On the face of it Sisu, have been shafted by the council and ACL for years. Now i don't believe that it is all the councils fault and Sisu could have handled a lot of this better, but clearly there does seem to be some type of council Vendetta against CCFC/Sisu, which needs to end in the interest of the taxpayers (fans), if there are reasonable locations for a stadium, then why should we not be allowed to build and own a home of our own? If wasps can (as they claim) survive without us, then surely the increase in revenue and the redevelopment of an area of Coventry isn't a bad thing?

As others have said if SISU are spouting more shit, then the council need to call their bluff now. No media arguments or PR campaigns. Just say they will negotiate in good faith on the premise of the above statement.
I always have thought SISU were sold a pup by Ray Ranson.
That they are currently running the club in a manner like most others at our level. Funding a loss
That does not exclude their appalling behavior, including the Court cases
Nor will I ever understand why they haven't cut and run

But I know nothing..............

That I was able to point the desperation out who from. That it was obvious.

Same people will be in overdrive to excuse the council to not bother and say they have done nothing wrong.

One thing they can do Nick. That’s all you need to post.

I like the fact that SISU have issued this open statement. Whilst nothing was coming from SISU all we could do was guess what the situation was and usually blame SISU for ALL of our ills.
Ive been calling for SISU to issue some response and now they have, I have developed some sympathy and a greater understanding of what theyve been up against.
Seems to me that they have been well and truely shafted by our very own Coventry Council who took it upon themselves to wage a personal vendetta against SISU and in turn CCFC.
Ive always had the opinion that the worst and most heinous crime amogst all that has happened was selling the Ricoh to the Wasps. I despise the council for this and in turn despise the interlopers from London too!

I'm with Otis (which is worrying). SISU/CCFC need to be saying where the site(s) is/are and formally approach the Council. They can't expect to say 'find us a site' as it presupposes they haven't looked for a viable option. If they mean what they have stated, they need to follow up with some visible next steps to show that this is not merely a political/tactical/theoretical positioning with no real substance with regards to a new stadium (and yes, we have been shafted, but we need to get over that - think Sunderland and the Bristol City game)

Seems way too much of an open goal for CCC to not call Sisu's bluff on this hence the cynicism, notwithstanding of course the club owners previous conduct.

(Wording such as "On reasonable terms" does scream potential litigation if they don't get their way further down the line though.)

Which quote from the letter stood out for you? What was the killer line that convinced you to change your mind?

How can you ever be right when you never actually post anything other than vague accusations and refuse to elaborate? You’ve not made a falsifiable hypothesis.

Your refusal to answer is noted. Make that eleventy billion and one.
I pointed out the clear desperation and that something was going on. I've also pointed out who and what they were trying to achieve.

That's how obvious they are. You are clearly just going to bang on about conspiracy and tin hat.

I wonder why?

Sigh

Define “help” and define “reasonable terms” and maybe we’re getting somewhere.

Are they wanting financial help buying land? Do they want CCC to give them/sell them land?

Still not sure what’s stopping them buying land and putting planning in. CCC can’t just deny planning because they don’t like someone. If the app conforms to policy it’s got to be granted.

Am I being too cynical in seeing this as yet another way to kick everything into the long grass so they’ve got time to distress Wasps?
It is not necessary to buy land to find out whether there are going to be obstacles to getting planning.
I imagine it is possible to have preliminary discussions with the planning dept. before even submitting proposals for a major project like this.

Oh “something”. Well excuse me. I do feel silly. What a clear accusation that we can check for correctness.

The Butts is and was Cov rugby's plan though wasn't it. That shows zero intention on behalf of Sisu to build their own stadium. That was just trying to piggyback on to others' plans.

I find I can't believe anyone, so am not buying this statement at all. I want to see evidence to back up these claims.
The rugby club owner submitted a proposal including ccfc which then prompted that response from the council referred to.

The clear accusation that particular "fans" are more interesting in trying to push pr than support the team they claim to support.

It was that clear I made a thread especially.

Maybe the 12,000 word propaganda gave it away ;)

Yes as I said earlier I think an outline application, or even a brief chat, is standard for a development of this size. Will quiz my property developer boss when he’s in tomorrow to find out more if I can.

Name the fans. Name what “PR” they’re pushing.

You’re just assuming everyone who disagrees with you must be doing it for conspiratorial reasons and not just that different people see things differently.

Show me evidence that these fans have the intentions you claim. Otherwise it’s just you saying shit. Nothing proven.
