I still don't understand why the EFL have to hold a meeting to discuss if they will be deducting Blackpool 12 points, as I thought the points deduction was mandatory for entering into administration?

Presume the claim is that its not actually the club in admin but Southampton and SISU tried the same thing and got nowhere do it would be very strange if they don't give Blackpool the deduction.

It’s discretionary. They could do them for more than, less than or that figure. They could’ve done us and one or others for more than 10 but didn’t.

They stayed away as Oyston still had control of the club’s bank accounts. The horrible cretin has now been officially removed from the board so I’m sure it’ll be a good crowd at their next home game.

Yeah, they've been tentatively optimistic about the news but only in the last few days has it turned into proper excitement. Sellout for the Southend game guaranteed if not the rest of the season, the stayaways I know have been itching to get back and now they can.

Official, job done.

Not the point. All this “we’ve got our club back” and yet 9,000 people decide there’s something better to do within 3 days. Classic excuses from part-time fans.
They've still doubled the attendance against Doncaster from what they were getting.

They had a much more visible boycott than us and when they get what they wanted only 3,500 extra fans turn up. I suspect if sisu left we might get another 500-1,000 after one big return game.

Just imagine we finish 7th and Blackpool finish 6th, then they are hit with the points deduction, it will be carnage on the Sunderland forum.

That's a disgrace, especially the justification for not applying it. Nobody wants any team to get a points deduction but you have to apply the rules to everyone. At no point when we went into administration or exited without a CVA was there ever doubt over our 'ability to fulfil its obligations as a member club' so why did we get deductions?
