Appeal Dismissed (1 Viewer)

With my job I have to have.

All seems quite straight forward to me

Wasps are a horrible nasty bunch. However it is bullshit for the football club to try and pretend it is nothing to do with the Legal Action. The person who signs off all the decisions around the legal action, also signs off all the big decisions around the football club. Also Fisher was very supportive of the legal action and he is our chairman.
Even if you did believe the two are not intertwined, as much as I hate Wasps they would be shit at business if they did not use CCFC to try and stop the legal action. Its one of their only areas of leverage. Just like SISU used the football club to try and destroy ACL by moving it to Northampton.
SISU are shits and Wasps are shits =, but I never get chuntering at those supporters who try and do things about it and are fellow supporters some of the best supporters there are.

Again, you will discuss things and fire fight and fair play to you but once it gets past you it's probably a lost cause.

I can assure you that isn’t the case

It has been like that every time to be fair.

Just saying "come to a meeting" or "go for a place on the board" is usually how it ends up. Polite way of just ignoring it. (again, not you personally).

Where have I said that? They seem to have ideas and want to be proactive. What’s the harm in trying to organising something to galvanise those ideas? If it also can be combined with raising some money for a cause you’ve backed publically and having a bit of fun it makes it even better.

It’s hardly organising anything is it? When the media approach you for comments consider what the priority is.

The fact is none of you have to my knowledge made one negative statement about Wasps in any statement. That’s pretty telling isn’t? Who in their right minds would big them up and discuss a better atmosphere?

What’s a meeting got to do with anything? Surely you have a thousand plus members? So they don’t count? Only those who join a talking shop in a social club?

Surely the best approach is to survey the whole membership and determine from the whole membership the direction - as custodians - to go forward with?

Not on the trust board but this was in the BBC ........

"The recent story about Wasps taking a majority stake in ACL, the Ricoh Arena operating company, raises some major concerns among Coventry City supporters," said the Sky Blue Trust statement.

"The Sky Blue Trust has stated it believes that for the good of the football club its long term future lies at the Ricoh Arena, either as tenants or owners, with access to all relevant income streams and, on the face of it, this news makes that future uncertain."

Wow. The fact that’s the best you can do (welcome by the way) proves how impotent on this issue they are.

Where have I said that the members that aren’t at meetings don’t count? I was trying to create a situation where dialogue over a drink or two can take place and those that are there can raise some money for the Legacy Fund & have a bit of fun. If you can’t be there I won’t hold it against you. I just thought your input would be useful.

The way you are saying it though is that it isn't classed as input unless it's at a meeting.

May not be intentional but it's how it comes across.

Yes hardly a compelling criticism I agree, however you said the fact they hadn't done a single one, it does show that they did a single one and I only did a very quick google.
Thanks for the welcome and apologies if it seems like I am nit picking.

That's not really a negative statement about Wasps is it? It said it raises concerns amongst city fans.

It soon stopped after a meeting with Wasps and the article about how great the Wasps match came after that.

No, I’m not saying that at all. You know that.

I think it is negative it is saying they are concerned about Wasps coming and that CCFC should either be owners or have access to all revenues.

That's not saying something negative about Wasps though is it? It is saying they are concerned about the situation.

Has there ever been anything like "after we were moved away, we would like to say how against moving sports clubs we are?" That would be a bit negative about their move.

Yes it definitely would be.
This is negative as well, however your example is even more negative. This is definitely negative though its saying they are concerned about the idea of Wasps coming and that they think CCFC should be the owners not Wasps and that CCFC should get the income revenues.

You have obviously searched for something and that is the closest you have found, which proves the point.

I don't think anybody expects "Nick Eastwood is a wanker" levels or anything like that. A comment about how moving sports clubs is wrong would be a start, after all they would be going apeshit at the thought of it happening to CCFC again after a spokesman said how their first game here was "a fantastic sporting occasion".

Yes I googled it as I was shocked at the fact that the Trust have never said a single negative post about the Wasps.
However that statement was incorrect as they have. Even though you seem to not think that it is negative.
Although I am nit picking as it is obly one post. Although I am not going to spend all night searching no matter how bored I am at the moment!!!

How desperate are you? Seemingly very at the minute to try and prove a point. it's clearly not negative about Wasps, it is just expressing worry and concern at the situation.

See if you can find something actually negative, if it's something that out-dos the positive statement then even more bonus points!

One suggestion at a Trust meeting was for as many City fans as possible to get into a Wasps game and to spend the game making our presence felt (verbally and non aggressively). Apparently quite quiet at Wasps games so a bunch of noisy football fans would stand out. It wouldn't be earth shattering or life changing but like the anti Sisu protests would get our plight more publicity. It would be particularly good at a televised game with the Sky Blue Song being belted out. It would give those people who didn't want protests at City matches a chance to be involved. A pro City to stay at the Ricoh demo.

You are Famous!

For the record also, if there was any sort of protest / statement made I don't think it should be aimed at their fans in any way. Don't want another Sixfields type thing and "scabs" etc. No point at all to it. (Yes I know that ISB wasn't suggesting that).

Because after years of suggesting things, that's exactly what it means.

There was another time I spent an evening writing ideas down after I was asked. Some may have worked, others probably loads of shite. Want to hazard a guess what happened?

Again, you will discuss things and fire fight and fair play to you but once it gets past you it's probably a lost cause.
You've hit the nail on the head.
You all want to suggest things give no input into it give no help then throw your dummies out of the pram when they don't do it.
You have a handful of people trying to sort out various things, they have jobs and families like the rest of us but all you get is well it's on a Monday night or it is in the squirrel stop your moaning and give a hand.
Thing is after all the shit that has gone on in forums like this most of us have walked away too.

Over to you lot now.

I have given multiple examples where I have also spent time trying to give input. Granted, nowhere near as many hours as some.

You don't have to physically go to a pub on a Monday to be able to give input. Why does that seem the only option before anybody would take your point on board?

Not that desperate at all.
Saw the comment thought really that's quite crazy, did a quick google and there was a negative comment, that you happen to think isnt negative.
Not going to carrying on googling, not because I have anything better to do just that its quite boring.
Stop getting your knickers in a twist.
More importantly what can I do with this £10 credit I have earned tonight?

I don't think it's a negative comment about Wasps, because it is isn't. Quite obviously.

As that is the best you have seemingly come up with then it's even more obvious.

Ok I think it is, you think it isnt I think we have established that now!!! So what, do you ever stop going on?????

Do you know what I can do with the credit, as in how I can use it or not?

To anybody that can read, it clearly isn't saying something that could be classed as negative about them.

Yep, you can place bets before games! Alternatively, I have some biff, chip and kipper books upstairs if you want to trade? ;)

You're right. Thats why I suggested initially a demonstration where we'd all turn on mass, sing LAST, you are my City, IOCH, etc but fall silent when kicks are being taken etc. No disruption to their fans. Just a loud message that would be heard on TV that we matter and our club matters.

It not all about telling things over though is it.
These things don't just happen because a suggestion has been out in.
Who follows it all up?
who gets the wheels moving?
who tries to get all of to move smoothly?
Who has meetings with all the different authorities?
These things don't just happen like I said you can count on 1 hand the people that do all this.

Oh and then all you get for your trouble is a witch hunt against you or threatened at games because someone thinks it is a shit idea.

Welcome to the SBA.

There's a lot of distrust within the fanbase. You've only got to look at what's been going on on Facebook recently. I'm not on there myself but from what I gather a really good bloke that hasn't done anything wrong raises money for a charity and it's suggested something untoward happened with that money. Sad state of affairs.

I wouldn't agree with any threats at games so isn't relevant.

Of course not every suggestion will happen or come to fruition. My point is just how things are instantly written off because they aren't said at a meeting.

It's hard to say who would do what without knowing exactly what the idea was.

What's the process every time a statement is made to the media? Does it need a meeting with authorities or everything you have listed?

But it is relevant.
Steve has been approached luckily he has let it slide.
Could just see the uproar on here Trust fighting at games, that would make a few posters on here cream.
