How did we ride our luck in the last 2 games?

Wycombe - had 1 decent chance by their goalkeeper towards the end = that was about it from them
Southend - ???? We had a perfectly good goal disallowed and bossed them all game

Not sure we had much luck in either game

Oh blimey, senior moment. The games blur into one another!!! I remember us going 2 down the second being a solo effort from a midget midfielder and then Armstrong & Murphy combining in a fight back. Thought it was P'boro
You're thinking of Spurs 2 City 3, Wembley, 1987.

Last two games we won with late goals and were lucky not to concede. Most of our games are quite close, we don't win many emphatically. Don't get me wrong, I think we are a match for any team in this division, but by the same token we don't stand out in the crowd. I think we will have a solid season and we have some good up and coming young players, but I don't think we will be a top three side or even get into the play-offs.

Sorry, just being realistic. If it's any consolation, I hope I'm wrong and we storm it for the rest of the season. I admit we could do better if Kelly and Jones hit a bit of form. Would be nice if they hit form and we had a run just after Christmas.

Robins said we would start slowly - and said we just needed to stay in touch
12 points from the 1st 10 games just about achieved that

Our squad is now getting fitter and becoming a unit
We will not finish top 2 or bottom 4

I do think we have an outside chance of 6th - but could finish anywhere between 6th and 15th
Lets just hope that the decisions even themselves out over the season after 2 disallowed offside goals and one that went over the line - that is 3 goals we are due back already

Realistic? After just 14 games in? We're not even a third of the season in yet.

Head into Xmas In the top half with momentum maybe a signing here or there in Jan who knows, anything is possible.

dont think you can be too surprised that some cov fans think we will lose. we rarely win 4 or 5 on trot! and hes right we dont blow teams away.

top 10-3rd seems possible. i personally think we can still get autos. long long way to go, just focus on one game at a time

Historically teams who finish autos are up there pretty much all season, it'll be some achievement if we can finish even in the play offs

Quite happy with us bubbling along... predicted defeat in the last 2 games, for the superstitious I’ll say lose 2-0...

Really want to say 2-1 Coventry though

Will it be available to watch on ifollow? Never watched a game on there before, if I already pay £4.50 odd per month for commentary is it another £10 for tonights match?

Law of being a city fan says it will be a frustrating evening, tho it be a wonderful haul of points should we get another win and a 3rd consecutive away win at that.

Yes, it's a tenner a game, which is reasonable I think, certainly significantly cheaper than actually going.

Bradford are shite
I may have to bump this at 9.40 pm tonight.

This is the City.

How many times have we come up against a team and said they were terrible and we should definitely win, only for them to then beat us easily and have us go and put in an abject performance to boot?

Fingers crossed we win, but the old wise head in me says defeat.

I quite agree. But then again we might not get any decent signings, lose Luke Thomas and plummet. I am taking the middle ground and think we will win a few lose a few and make mid-table by the end of the season - which I think is satisfactory considering being promoted and the level of investment in the squad. Gives Robins breathing space and a chance to build on the squad next season.

Anyway this is off topic. The Bradford game, our wins in the last three or four games have been close games, I think luck will evade us (or even go against us) and we are more likely to draw, or narrowly lose by one or two goals. A draw would be acceptable I think and would keep the momentum going for now. Of course a win would be excellent.

Anytime we play Bradford i just think of them poor games against them the year we was relegated and the one on Bonfire night a couple years after. With Bradford trying to get some points on the board i think they'll just try and avoid defeat first rather than take the game to the city like most home teams would. Think this has got 0-0 written all over it

They signed Sean Scannell, who I thought would be a great signing, but he's crocked. No longer have that beast Hanson (Wimbledon). J O'B injured. By all accounts they have 2 big blokes up front but no wingers to cross to them (Scannell would have been one?). All this had further boosted my confidence levels (which, I know, is a bad thing). Be surprised if we were complacent, though.

Remember Barnsley a few seasons ago who had a woeful start before winning a shit load? Imagine if we did something like that :) Highly unlikely but one can dream

so
32 games left - approx 52 more points will get us close to play offs and 64 more points promoted automatically

so for each group of 8 games
Win 4 draw 1 for play offs (3 defeats)
Win 5 draw 1 for autos (2 defeats)

and for the pessimists
win 2 draw 2 to survive (4 defeats)

in terms of v last season we are 2 points worse off - but a win tonight would put us in line
