Burge - 8 Some very good saves today.

Sterling - 7 Good display from the youngster. One gripe was that incident where he let their player come inside in the area and get a shot in. Otherwise, a good display.

Willis - 8 Very solid display from him and of course he bagged the winner to boot.

Hyam - 7.5 Thought he was having a great game, but second half he started to get bullied a bit by their big centre forward.

Brown - 7 A couple of very ropey moments in the first half, but then grew into the game.

Bayliss - 7 From attacking perspective he looked dangerous all game long. Bit worrying though when it comes to us not being in possession, where his defensive skills are practically zero.

Doyle - 6 Thought he was poor in the first half. Bypassed and outmuscled. Second half he started to put a bit more of a stamp and authority on the game, but it was a bit worrying how the middle of the park was lost to Barnsley on a few occasions.

Shipley - 5.5 Thought he was poor today. A lot of wrong decision making and poor passes at times and he didn't look fit to my mind.

Thomas - 7 Thought he looked bright and breezy all game and was always a threat. Again though, lacking in that final third and once again over hit a ball when through in goal.

JCH - 7.5 Thought he had his best game for some time from us and there looked like there could be a good partnership in development between him and Chaplin

Chaplin - 7.5 Always looked dangerous and his movement was good. Should have scored though, but his all round play was impressive at times.

Kelly - 6.5 Steadied the ship a bit when he came on.

Bakayoko - 0 Cos he's shit innit.

Barnsley have been scoring for fun and were unbeaten so were full of confidence so this was a real big win so marks are accordingly higher
Burge - 8 best game this season, a couple of top saves
Sterling - 7 also had his best game this season
Willis - 9 marshalled defence well against a free scoring attack, extra point for the goal
Hyam - 8 defended excellently against a confident opponent in Moore
Brown - 6 awful back pass but generally solid - not yet convinced by him
Thomas - 8 really lively performance & a couple of fantastic passes which we didn't capitalise on
Bayliss - 6 the odd good piece of play but not involved enough for me
Doyle - 8 always involved, plenty of interceptions, good delivery for goal & liked the clever free kick before that which caught their defence napping
Shipley - 4 nothing went right for him from the off, slicing shots & misplacing passes & also leaving Brown exposed at times
Johnson-Harris - 6 battled hard, but didn't really impact that much, although early signs are good for his link up with Chaplin
Chaplin - 8 constant pain to their defence & didn't let early miss affect him, looked very unlucky with the offside call
Kelly - 7 made a silly error early on, but then helped our shape when the game got stretched
Bakayoko - not enough time to mark, but helped see the game out

About spot on, I would change Shipley to a 5 but couldn’t disagree with the others

Burge 8 would have been a 9 but some poor kicking off the ground.
Sterling 7 best game by far.
Willis 8 very solid good goal.
Hyam 8 very solid good assist
Brown 6.5 Got better as the game went on.
Thomas 7.5 some lovely skills just need the final piece.
Bayliss 7
Doyle 8 solid and dependable.
Shipley 5 look knackered after 25 minutes. Some poor decisions pulled out of loads of tackles gave their right back a free game.
JCH 8 best game for some time. Won loads in the air starting to build a good relationship with Chaplin.
Chaplin 8 looks lovely works hard feel he had a goal ruled out as the linesman wasn't up with play.

Most ratings have been about right. Burge motm for me, two absolute top class saves, better positioning at corners. I know I dig into Shipley every week, but again today he demonstrated his lack of pace and general lack of quality on the ball. Away from home I see why he might play but at home he has to be dropped, bring Kelly back into the middle and push Bayliss out wide. Do something that means we aren't carrying him. Better from Sterling again today. Still doesn't offer the attacking options that Grimmer does though.

All round fantastic performance, we actually got stuck in and battled the whole game. Shipley was frustrating, good movement bad passing and shooting. Special shout outs to burge , hyam, chap and doyle. Best ive seen sterling by a long way

You've marked Sterling and Burge with the same rating. Do you think they contributed equally to that result today?

I think Burge could have cost us a goal with his kicking. Sterling did nothing wrong throughout, Burge made an excellent save or two so overall a good 7. If I was doing half points I might have given him a 7.5. For the record, I do rate Burge...

Mostly fair marks but a few for JCH are a bit high. He certainly had a better game today but not as good as some of you think, and did not look as if he was going to score, but then that's my opinion.
Chaplin is starting to look good and has an excellent workrate, but if Bakayoko or Biamou had blasted those two shots wide, this forum would be in meltdown

9 outstanding performances I felt for Shippers who I've defended on here and still worked 100% but nothing came off for him and I thought he was poor today. The other bad one I'm almost scared to say for fear of flak since some have him motm but I found Jono really frustrating. in the air and on the ground I was disappointed. Looked lethargic at times. Sorry in advance!

I thought he played well. Won a lot of headers and set Chaplin up for the goal that wasn't, but should have been.

I thought he put himself about well today and there were also little sparks of a partnership between him and Chaplin too.

He tired second half, but had put so much hard work in by then.

Funnily enough, kicking and throwing should be the easiest skill to improve as a keeper.

If Burge added that to his game he'd be in the top 3 keepers at this level.
