a decent run out for some of the players, but arsenal deserved their 3-0 win.

No getting away from the fact that its now only 1 goal (apart from an own goal) from open play in our 9 games this season, but its still early days and we are in top half of our new league.

The quote was "some reserve games". Not regularly. The detail is lost in the mists of time, but we did have very good attendances in those days for the reserves, A-team and youth team. And the first team of course. There was a real buzz about the club

When are we talking about? I never attended a reserve game that got anywhere near that figure. Had a couple of big crowds for FA youth cup games though.

Yep course they did. In fact that’s just the number who were in the WesternTerrace.
And we never lost HR and there were no restricted views caused by steel girders. And the Bovril was worthy of a Michelin star. And all the local kids supported the City rather than Liverpool or Man Utd or Leeds. And the band played believe it if you like.

I understand why people don’t feel at home at the Ricoh and why many of us regret leaving HR but the mythology abt the place is astounding. Regularly 10k fans for a central league game? Behave

He's correct though. I was a regular at reserve games as a teenager in the mid 90's. Most games only got a couple of thousand. When I was going up it was only the Main Stand that was open. But on odd occasions, "big" games, there was a fair crowd. Perhaps not 10000 though.

Of course when we played West Ham upin the youth cup (final or semi, I can't recall), there were loads there and the whole stadium was open, probably 15-17000 if my hazy memory is correct.

Arsenal's side plays together regularly and are used to each other. They are also a group of the most talented youngsters in the country/Europe. Ours don't play as an eleven to the same extent, and won't/don't have the same technical ability. Would like an U21s side or even 2 get to Wembley. to show the competition up (unles we get there - that would be awful playing against an U21s side) FWIW, I think Man City and Chelsea are both capable of winning it.

They could go for a run in non competitive games.

It was awful.

How many of their team are English? Lots of foreign sounding names.

Julio Pleguezuelo (Spanish) Deyan Illiev (Macedonia). The rest I am pretty sure are all English.

Nobody expected to smash them.

Didn't expect kids to be physically out doing us. Most tackles, they took out allisani and camwell very late.

It's the same as most of the league games, no plan. Stubbornness to persist with something clearly not working
