Right if this gets to 25 pages and we haven't signed him I think Robins should look elsewhere. Nick's got kids to feed, can't be relying on one rumour all summer.

We've lost our best player and top goalscorer.

We're now a league higher. I really hope we are not about to do a Mowbray...

Can we just have a little faith please? Robins will sign someone and based on his past transfers that someone will likely be pretty decent. McNulty was a gamble when he came in and it paid off but look at the other business we have done. Upgraded the defence and misfield substantially and bought in some exciting prospects from non-league who will hopefully come good. Andreu will score goals, so will Jones and I bet this Sterling lad will too. Bayliss and Shipley know where the back of the net is and both Biamou and JCH have the ability to make a goal. Allesani can play up front and if we sign Daniel Armstrong he can as well. That's before you even consider what part Ponti might play this season and who else may step up from the U23s as the season goes on. Let's not undo all the good work because McNulty chose to leave. It's disappointing but he was one player, an important one yes but still just one player.

Hear! Hear!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, mcnulty was great but I’d rather lose him than Bayliss.

Leeds are now apparently sniffing around Mo Eisa

More likely to go there now, bigger club, higher league and probably much better wages

I do believe that the saying 'Do a Mowbray' has now officially been accepted into the English language.

In fact, I quite often accuse my wife of 'doing a Mowbray's and might use it at Sainsbury's later.

Quote from Kenny Jackett talking about Portsmouth's transfer business in an interview posted this morning:

‘Sometimes you can wait a long time for a certain player and then realise six months later that you never had a chance in the first place, or weren’t as close as you think.'

Read more at: Jackett’s warning over transfer targets

Hopefully that's not how this all ends for us.

They've just sold their Tunisian player to St Etienne, so probably have a few more pennies freed up. The sooner Eisa moves, one way or another, the better for all concerned. MR will have more than one iron in the fire.

The more this rumbles on the more it winds me up how we haven't done the same thing. We sold our best striker at the first acceptable bid and now we've sold ourselves short and have to wait for others to get a replacement before we can replace him. We should've done this too.

Flip side is Robins might have thought this would have been done quicker and he doesn't want a player at Ryton who has no interest in being at the club. Interesting that the fee being mentioned for Eisa is more than McNulty and one gets a shot at the Championship and the other at L1. Did we sell McNulty on the cheap?

This is so tedious now, whether it's him or someone else we need a striker in now. Season starts in 2 weeks time. We should have put a deadline on this a week or so ago.

No Cheltenham are asking too much for Eisa. I personally think we got a good deal for McNulty

I do wonder what Chaplin & his agent think about all this. McNulty's agent forced the move through for him by stating that he wouldn't be happy if the move didn't happen.
Surely Chaplin's agent must be thinking about a move of some kind (ka-ching) and I would be surprised if he's not given Jackett some sort of ultimatum regarding his player - play me or let me go is the usual line.
