Brilliant day. Only their penalty took the shine off a superb win. Shame about the Mansfield result but surely even we can't fuck it up now?

Well just got back from a great match, cant believe the highlights are only 2 minutes long.

We could've been two up in the first few minutes with hard low driven crosses. Couldn't see from the far end why they didn't end up in the back of the net.

How many City fans in the home end? It looked pretty full.

Good performances all round. Stokes and Davies came in and did well. max won everything, even when he had to sprint 40 yards to where the ball was going to land.

Well done boys.

Impossible, unless Burge decides to throw the ball into the net .....

......erm...........

They had some giants in their side. Either they can’t jump or we stood on their toes! Either way defence were brilliant.

Just back and wasn’t it just the perfect response following Tuesdays debacle? Apart from the penalty which maybe took the gloss of an otherwise perfect away performance. Shame really as I thought Burge had done really well with his presence etc until that point. But as we all know, has a mistake in him at any time. Could also have easily been a red for DOGSO but I guess the Ref (who was very good by the way) deemed it a genuine attempt to play the ball.

Morecambe haven’t won in their last 9 and lost 3-0 away to the team we beat 6-1 today.

I’ve supported CCFC long enough but surely even we can get at least a draw

Mansfield can win 1-0 and us lose 1-0 and they go into play offs over us.

Hopefully Lincoln will miss out ;)

How would that work? In that given scenario we’d have the same goal difference. Would it go to h2h or goals scored?

Either way, I’d rather be going into the last game of the season on a higher GD than the team below us.

Would go to goals scored first.

Fuck me what a day.
.Bet on us and Palace on over goals. Also had us to lose and Mansfield win double. Gotn3.32/1 Just signed into Skybet. I must have been more pissed than I thought. Last night I put us to win instead of lose  So for those who thought the odds were very low there is your answer.

So glad I was pissed last night :smug:

Just got back - great win. Gutted Mansfield won after being behind twice. But in some ways it’s good that we don’t take our foot of the peddle now - momentum is needed to produce in the playoffs. Let’s win next week and march on to Wembley!!!

By the way - do the lads have to run on the pitch for every goal we score ...... starting to get a bit embarrassing now.

Yes one just decided to run from one stand to the other for every goal we scored. Hardly justified when we’re 1-6 up.

Yeah, one lad in a blue coat kept running from behind the goal to the other Cov fans on the side and back again! What the hell was the point in that?

If you want to get into deep thought answer one question. What is the point about life?

Just back. One of the best away days ever.

Tidy little ground,
6 super goals!
Biamou with another stunner. The lad don’t score tap ins.

Just a shame because of our goal difference it’s still not settled. If only we had scored 2 more goals vs Stevenage.

Don’t want to take the shine off it. Who would have thought it would be our away form better than our home last couple of months.

Eat your words
If you think 6 goals in the equivalent of 25 and half games from our second striker is good enough in this league I don't. Look at the top half of the league and you go down to the 3rd or 4th highest scorer before you find a 6 .Look at our own side and Bayliss Jones and Ponticelli have scored 1 less goal than him with far less time on the field, 2 of them are midfielder and the 3rd Ponti has scored his 3 times as quick as Max this is a guy whom Robins said is not ready yet. Don't get me wrong I blame Robins. We should not be playing him in the first place. If we had played a better 2nd striker we would have been up in the auto's by now not having a nervous few weeks

First half of the season our second striker was Nazon, when he wasn’t injured, on international duty etc. Did ok with 6/7 maybe even 8 goals I think.

I stand by what I said we may have scored 6 today what about the other 44 games if we have had more goals coming from our 2nd striker all season we would not have been needing a result next Saturday 2 more goals last Tuesday night would have meant we would have been in the play off's now . Same as the game against Stevenage when against 10 men for a lot of the time .Just to point out IF and I know its a big if we lost 1-0 and Mansfield won 1- 0 they would finish ahead of us. That's how tight it is.

If we had of had a defence against Yeovil we would also be safe

Second half we didnt come out the same, and sat back.

Its as though they were told at HT to shut the game down, clean sheet, dont take any risks.

Unfortunately you lose momentum. After the penalty Cheltenham had a 10 minute spell of pressure that luckily came to nothing.

As Stevenage was the same, you have to wonder if these are instructions from the manager.

They might well come from the manager if they do its a very dangerous tactic all I was saying in my posts that anyone can shout after a 6-1 win many teams have a big scoring win ask Yeovil and don't do anything the other 45 games in the season are what count . If people think 6th or 7th in this league is good all I can say they are very easy to please.

Make no mistake this was a very accomplished win. Cheltenham looked half decent in open play but very poor at the back. We picked them off without much fuss tbh. Doyle and Kelly controlled the midfield for the most part with a determined attitude that was infectious. Stokes was constantly involved and put in a solid performance with example football and commitment, shouting instructions all afternoon. For once throw in's were taken swiftly.
Our finishing was excellent. Our defenders soaked up whatever they got thrown at them, getting to second balls, clearing their lines and remained vigilant for 90 minutes. Burge had a reasonable game in fairness but did completely take out there guy for a penalty. His distribution at one point got a reprimand from Doyle.
Biamou took some stick and constantly complained at the lino who was totally inept (a woman by the way) while the ref kept a good flow on proceedings. A couple of unnecessary bookings, one for Doyle and Biamou for his goal celebration which seemed a tad unfair. Bayliss had an average game and seems a little uncomfortable pushed out wide but when he did get the ball at his feet to turn and run he was a threat. Apart from a few missed passes (well it's league 2) it was a solid 90 minutes.
I enjoyed today standing virtually pitch side with a great view, a real throwback of a stadium,I felt like it was 1968! The Sky Blue Army were in fine voice and offered real atmosphere and they got their reward.
Have to be there next week to see us gain a play off place, something we have not achieved in a life time, even though this is only league 2. On this kind of form and committed play I would be confident of coming through the play off's. Well done MR's for getting them in the frame of mind they needed to be.
