Saying they understand it, isn't excusing it. Their statement last week was very clear I thought. Today, I sit not far from people involved in that group, and when the balls were thrown, they looked quite confused.

Ultimately, they are a protest group, and while they can (and have) condemned unlawful action, it's not for them to condemn all forms of protest, especially those they are not involved in, because they are answerable to no-one when people take action independently. They have never claimed to speak for all supporters, nor should they.

No, I haven't said they were all there throwing tennis balls. I've said I don't blame them for today or anything like that.

Don't agree about speaking on behalf of fans, they quite often do. Maybe a bit of "come on now, we are all for a protest but we need to think about it" type thing to try and reel it in? Maybe pointing out that it's going to just divide the fans? (rather than just class people who disagree with it as small elements). A bit of guidance, point out it's not going to bother SISU.

Again, this isn't blaming to them. More like looking for a bit of guidance amongst the fans as like I said I'd never seen anything like today after the tennis balls the way fans stood up and applauded and shouting abuse with wanker signs etc towards the scoreboard. It will only get worse and worse.

Meanwhile people are completely blind do that and just say it's SISU dividing fans.

Great reply you fuckin prick!!

I am not one to blindly hear someone speak and take it as gospel as you are implying. But on this occasion I agreed with his opinion on the goals.

Professional footballers should be able to concentrate following a stoppage in play regardless of whether it's due to an injury, floodlight failure etc or tennis balls on the bastard pitch!!

Why do it when we are defending a corner?
Totally agree Nick! Not objecting to demo but for Christmas sake why not do it when the game is in the middle and going nowhere

The thing is though, it isn't the first time is it? So people should think about Bolton and Sheffield United before thinking it's a good idea to disrupt the game while we defend a corner. Why do it when we are defending the lead against Bolton?

If it happened for example when we had a corner or attacking free kick then there's no argument is there that it could cost us a goal. The same as nobody is putting the protests and their second in the same breath.

Seems to me Burge was at fault for the goals. 1st went over him and he couldn't hold the shot for the second, how did tennis balls make him do that then??

i really don't care if fans throw things or not it's entirely up to them I say and isn't wrong or right doesn't concern me at all,
Fans are at there wits end and do not know what else to do? But let's be fair there not protests are they really ?more like someone has come up with it and shared it on there Facebook, just seen the goals as I'm typing and didn't see any tennis balls? Shit defending from a corner wasn't it? I'm confused or stoned or both
and a genuine question like for all those against the tennis balls and what ever the other things were the last games can't remember, do you have any ideas yourself or just nah it's not worth it like?

Have only read the 1st page but for ffs you fucking wankers blaming tennis balls , I am more shocked by these pathetic responses than the performances on the pitch .

Why oh why is it that the protests only affect city players and never the opposition, because we are shit regardless.
The 1st goal was because of the tennis balls.?....if anyone thinks that then they are clueless. just look at burge no mans land again

You do realise saying "how did the protest cause the second goal" is a stupid argument right? Nobody is saying it had anything to do with it. The same as they aren't for the goal conceded against Swansea for example.

But as Slade said both goals were down to players not doing their jobs, protest or not.
Which has been a constant theme throughout this season.

Surely the fact that it's the 3rd time it's happened now is telling?

If people have to throw tennis balls on or blow a whistle then don't do it when we are defending. Common sense really isn't it?

What did today actually do towards making SISU go?

I'm not blind to it, I could see from where I was sat people applauding (ironically); I just don't get the eagerness to criticise the JHW group for small groups acting independently. How much power do you think they have?

All they can do is continue to do what they do and protest constructively, as happened brilliantly at Charlton, and I'm sure we'll see another joint effort when they come here.

The problem is, when they try to do something peaceful before or after the game (like the sit-in) people mock it. Not all these things work I know, but some people seem to enjoy it when they don't.

They were there for the taking - loss of concentration did'nt help - players are not paid to pick up tennis balls - out best chance fell to a defender but he was there and had a chance

They were of course bigger and the ref missed the pull back but then he missed a couple of tackles !

yes for me thats the third match this has happened - ffs why at the corner

I'm not blaming them or the Trust, I am just saying maybe it needs a bit of distance from it and a bit of guidance.

There are people saying they want to get SISU loads of fines so they do it, why not point out that it's CCFC that gets fined for example? Why not point out it's only going to damage CCFC?

And surely the fact is that it does not distract opposition players so why ours ....or are we playing amatures. It appears so

Stop soft soaping every goal we give away Burge was shit for the first goal, tennis balls made no difference

as for sisu going who knows better to do something than when it's to late wish you had .
It for sure is not doing any harm

It is doing harm to CCFC isn't it? It is doing harm to other fans isn't it, you just need to see the reaction it got!

So after the first 2 times it distracted only our players, did nobody stop to think "actually, this might distract our players so we won't do it at this time as we are just defending a corner"? Is that really too complex?

What's nambi pambi about it?

The whole "why does it only distract our players" argument is flawed, after only our players being distracted twice before why risk it again when we are defending a corner? Surely it just makes it even worse if people clearly know it distracts our players?

It achieved absolutely nothing towards getting rid of SISU.

I wasn't making an argument over it just commenting on it, will there ever be a thread where you don't answer sarcasticly or insultingly??? all you ever do is critcise posters, I know it's your site and you can say what you like, but ffs dont argue for the sake of it

It isn't arguing it is just pointing out nobody at all will blame the 2nd goal on protest, they only do when the protest happens just before we score.

I didn't insult you at all.

I agree today's protest did nothing to get rid of sisu. Not enough disruption to get headlines and any coverage. If the protests are to contribute to sisu leaving then they have to be bigger, better organised and far far more disruptive. But are people really up to that fight? I don't think so.
As for the notion the throwing of tennis balls affected city players and city players alone is laughable. Slade didn't use it as an excuse and neither should anyone here. The goal was down to poor marking, poor response to opposition movement etc. It was the type of goal (from a set piece) we have conceded all season. Hopeless defending not distraction by the protest

Because they should distance themselves and condemn disrupting matches straight out? Otherwise it's pointless saying "we dont excuse it" but then going onto excusing it.

Again, I dont blame them for today.

They have. But for some reason you want to make out they haven't.

Slade can't use it as an excuse can he? He would be absolutely hammered.

If you don't disrupt games (especially when defending) then you don't get the blame. Nobody blamed protests for Swansea's goal did they, or our second today?

Apart from the bit about going on to excuse it like they did last time ;)

On the other hand, I have seen the trust have something pro ccfc planned so fair play. Fully agree with it.

How can the throwing of tennis balls be blamed? The weren't on the pitch when the corner was tak n, when the player made the run, when the ball hit the net. Blaming the fans is another smokescreen. Yes I'm sure Fisher will try and use it to get himself off the hook and attribute blame elsewhere but we should get real...the poor defending led to the goal and nothing else...absolutely nothing else.
It seems we are looking to blame anything and everything for goals we concede and games we lose. Next I will be blamed for shouting at a defender to get tighter. When he doesn't and a goal is conceded I can be the scapegoat

Read the 1st page & skipped to the last.
Players are getting off way to lightly.

To blame the delay for the goal is ridiculous, Millwall had the same delay.

The corner wasn't even great it was awful keeper/defending (will have to watch it back).

What was the protest that resulted in distracting the players before Fleetwood scored the winner from a free header from a corner in the last home game? Oh wait there wasn't one.

I was there this afternoon unlike a far few commenting on it. The situation was the same for both sides they kept their concentration we did not all they have got to do is do it for 90 minutes ever game. The goal second I told the guy sitting next to me it was coming 2 passes before it came bad marking. Sorry to say I think the players seem to have given up they are under too much pressure because there is not enough battlers in the team O for a George Curtis or Terry Yorath type player to pick them up someone with a never say die attitude. On a side issue I spoke to 12 S T holders around me if they were renewing under SUSI everyone to a man said no and one of them goes back to 1947.

No, they only get blamed when they happen.

So surely the logical thing to do is either stop interferring with games completely or dont do it when we are defending a corner or holding onto a lead like against Bolton?

Meh I was very critical of the scenes at Northampton which just made us look like thugs.

Today doesn't bother me as much
