We've got a TV on here watching it but there's more excitement watching us play. ;)

Customer earlier said he was only going to watch in the hopes of civil disobedience in Washington.

Someone just said I never thought I'd see a black president sworn in and I did, I never thought I'd see an orange president sworn in and I am now.

Its more concerning to me the people he's appointing to top jobs. The confirmation hearings have really exposed how unsuitable his picks are, they can't even answer the most basic questions.

There's a good few on here that are suitable for a role in his presidency then... :D

Well one divisive speech. Can anyone really believe he is going to be good for the world?

I keep swinging between "Someone assassinate him now" and "Better to let him crash and burn so people know never to do this again"

It's a lot like my feelings on Jeremy Corbyn.

So you believe people who go against your views should be shot dead.

Fantastic.

I got in about 5.15 to witness the final speeches, I only wanted to watch the kids/youth band from Tupelo performing (with the off chance of the flugelhornist hoiking his/her instrument in the direction of the comb overed one)
As for expectations, I just get the feeling he's gonna surprise people with the way he goes about his tenure. As my missus says "He's a serial narcissist". And because of that I think he'll want to be remembered for doing 'good' (God only knows he needs to redress so much of the crap he's come out with up until now)
Obviously it's more out of hope than expectation but I just think by serving the needs of the majority (in as many ways as possible) it will also serve as a big put down to his biggest detractors. Maybe, just maybe that narcissistic character trait will be to the benefit of the USA. I hope so. That said, I think he will probably start WW3.

That's what you got from that?

Sorry I insulted your tiny handed king. Please don't send the brownshirts after me. Hail Putin.

Again a pathetic and juvenile response.

I'm no fan of trump but the system that allowed him to be president and the constitution of a country needs respecting.

Just because he doesn't fit your ideology doesn't mean he should be considered a worthy candidate for assination.

The argument is something I'd expect from someone who didnt make it into the sixth form debating society.

Think there will be more delegating than there's ever been. Everyone seems to 'know someone' who can help them do the job they're supposed to be doing.

Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't see his first term out. Suspect he never thought he would actually win and its sinking in how much work he's got to do. Its like a joke that's got out of hand.

I really can't understand the over the top reaction over here against him. He is certainly no worse and is considerably brighter than Bush but there was a much lesser reaction to his appointment. Sure we've been spoilt with Obama a genuine proper statesman but let's not pretend he liked the UK. Trump is many things and an easy figure to hate, says stupid iresponsible things and a poor choice (not that hiplary was any better) but he's here he's not leaving and I'd rather have him as a friend than an enemy. He's done ok in business so if he runs the country like a business I'm certain they'll thrive.

Some guy I saw on Breakfast TV proudly announced something akin to 'he will be a restrictive President. And we should all do everything we can to stop him'

Oh the irony!

Sounds like you don't know much about Trump.

If you are a white heterosexual male who has money you should be OK. If not then you need to be worried.

He is totally against immigration. But his grandfather came from Germany. His maternal side are British.

You say about his business sense. All built by his father and grandfather. His father built it on corruption. And look at how Trump continued.

Yeah good bloke and good morals :wideyed:

I always think it's worth seeing how things pan out so that you can debate facts rather than predictions. I mean when Blair was elected there was an outbreak of celebrity and pop star fawning like never before and look how that turned out.

Will probably be shit but let's see. Not sure how this WW3 scenario everyone talks about is going to happen. If the Facebook President managed to avoid it with the amount of hardware he let loose I don't think we need to worry about this plonker

The Beeb interviewed them and only two of the band liked Trump. The rest didn't care for him at all, but we're going for the day out.

He had a great start with $1M given to him but turned that into an empire - plenty had that start and blown it. I accept that you might not like him but to say the guy hasn't been successful is insane!

Also why should he support mass immigration just because his ancestory was part of it once? I know a number of affluent 2nd and 3rd generation Indians and West Indians through neighbourhood and work who strongly oppose the idea if uk mass immigration. Are you saying they are wrong and their opinion not relevant simply because they can't trace their uk ancestory past the Romans?

In the final week of campaigning when the FBI said there were thousands more Clinton emails to investigate, he was all over it. Then a few days later the feds said there was nothing more to probe he went crazy, slagging off the security agencies he is now reliant on to keep him safe.

He obviously thought his presidential hopes were up in smoke at that point. How stupidly naive and unstatesmanlike of he. Wouldn't be surprised if the feds turned a blind eye to any assassination plot coming his way....

Not really no (imo). Like anyone else around the world they didn't choose where to be born. If the people who moved here were opposed to it that's different, but as uk citizens their views as important us mine or yours and they have the right to hold them. If you go back far enough we're probably all immigrants and whilst you might disagree with me, you wouldn't call me a hypocrite, so the same should stand.

His companies have filed for bankruptcy multiple times while he personally hasn't, his victory coming in the same year as Leicester couldn't have been timed better.

The most worrying part is how a lot of people relying on the Affordable Care Act have been led to believe 'Obamacare' is its own separate thing and clearly terrible because it's got the name Obama in it, even though it hasn't and there are currently no replacement plans despite moves to gut it.

I find it massively hypocritical, (my opinion). And trying to deny refuge for people fleeing war zones is just plain inhumane. Especially when we start most the fucking wars in the first place.

I saw that piece the day before his coronation, they were marching up the street in rehearsal. I just wanted to see (if at all) how many bum notes were deliberately thrown in the performance.

He's clearly being light hearted. Have a day off.

Odd as when I made a similar reposte there were complaints and demands of an apology.
