Country Pubs (1 Viewer)

OK, so I determine this by food quality and general atmosphere...

Always been a fan of the Friendly Inn in Frankton, the Oak in Brandon, the Greyhound (not sure it counts as country, but it's by a canal ;)) but... any more for any more?

Edit: Like the Cape of Good Hope in Warwick too, although again not strictly country, more canal!

Have to disagree about the bull and butcher, The steak I had was terrible and overcooked. Didn't help that I damaged the car exhaust getting off the island.

The Bear Inn, Berkswell and The Black Boy, Knowle. Both excellent places for atmosphere and food quality.

Had a quick check, building looks nice, tripadvisor reviews mixed.

That said, I like the Old Mill in Baginton, same chain. Does a good job of disguising it's a chain really.

Yeah it's a bog standard Chef and Brewer

The Red Lion in Corley is ok I think. Also I gather The Falcon near Hatton has been refurbed and is good but have never been myself.

Went to the Hatton Arms a few months back unreal food!

Went on a Sunday and had the roast sharing board (to share!!) was out of this world!

Blue Lias at Stockton. Nice pub by the canal. Good food.

For a great meal in a proper old fashioned type pub, the butchers arms at Priors Hardwick. Pricey, but really nice. Lots of Xmas lights now too.

Been a while since I used any pubs at all in and around Cov, but I always used to like The Bear at Berkswell, The Queens Head, Meriden and The Oak, Baginton.

Coventry Oak, Wyken.

Classy family pub with a gorgeous backdrop and fantastic atmosphere. First class service and the food is unreal.

Hardly a country pub that has a bad reputation from the Wyken Pippen says and is located on the corner of one of Coventry's main roads.

See you can recognise quality pubs in the same way you recognise quality footballers.

Food in pubs should be either crisps or peanuts. Anything else is an abomination.

This isn't a pub thread - it's a restaurant thread! I blame bloody Masterchef. :)
Cheese and crackers goes well with cider.

took the wife for lunch there a month or two back, really enjoyed it and nice location though the weather was poor when we were there. Imagine it's cracking on a sunny day.
