<snip> he's on the sidelines wondering if he should have the steak or fish tonight.

Fish is healthier.

Yet again it appears we are cursed with a one trick pony manager, too stubborn and principled to try a different approach when so glaringly required.

His handling of Jim O'Brien was atrocious too.

Said about 3 weeks ago if we replaced him then, a new manager might provide fresh impetus to get the season back on track, but probably too late for that now.

Let him see out his contract but don't renew it. We don't want to have to pay him off. Maybe he can get us a few good loanees next season. This season is over anyway.

At this point we have nothing to lose by keeping him for next season.

Even Grendel would admit he's carrying a bit of weight m8...

If this was one of our usual managers and not someone of the 'stature' of Mowbray, we'd be going crazy.
I don't understand why he's not facing the wrath that others have faced, bearing in mind the squad he's got.

It worries me that Mowbray has a history of bottling it in the second half of the season. If you read about his time at Middlesbrough, it is almost exactly the same as what's happened here. Is he really the man who can get us out of this league? He's got us in a much better state than we were in last year but maybe it's time to kick on with someone else

Cole happened. Pay a player way more than anyone else and it pees off all the other players, and kills spirit in the dressing room. I said that at the time, but people fell for the rubbish about being the best player in the league.

We are not paying Cole, he is on 50% of his wages from Villa till end of season, if he leaves them in May.

If TM stays I will be completely expecting us to have the same fall from grace next season from Christmas onwards.

Happened 3 times to him now, so you have to assume that he is clearly not learning and that it will happen again and again and again.

Maybe next season if we are 24 points clear at the top of the table at Christmas we might just scrape into 6th place by the skin of our teeth come the end of the season.

He has done wonders for us, who would have taken 9th at start of season? I honestly expected us to be fighting relegation this season.

He said this would happen, but didn't do anything to prevent it.

Just keeps the same system, plays out of form players

It's not the managers it's the owners.
More interest off the field than on the field.

Mowbrays a great manager expected to work with average kids (if they are good they are sold), journey men and loanees.

Jones needs to be bought now before someone steps in.

Bingo.....

We are league one. Every club is the same and they.are all out witting us.

If he's a great manager we wouldn't have this losing streak, he would address it.

A great manager would adjust the system to the players and opposition

2 shots on target against one of the worst teams in the league, players look disinterested and without direction.

4 wins in 20, his time is up!

How is that different to the likes of Burton, Walsall, Gillingham et al who all get less crowds than us and on lower budgets?

If has the summer to build his own squad and is backed like he has been this season ie.....
If he gets another budget reportedly 8th-6th in this division.

If by Xmas we are not 6th-8th or above I would have to concede to the Mowbray out mob

In praise of Mowbray

For the first time in years we have a manager who actually gave us hope, all be it for a short time but rather than chuck it all in and get rid of him we should be getting ready to build on something. For me there have been two reasons for our current fall, one was the sale of Maddison when Mowbray had promised he wouldn't be sold, and two, and more worrying, fear.
Mowbray has been in a position of challenging for honours at other clubs only to fall come January, and he said when we at the top that he needs to get the system right when things aren't going right. Maybe he made a mistake by changing the way we were performing at the start of the season, and maybe we should have continued with the same style of play, whatever it was I think his fear of past failures caught up with him.
Saying that, I like the guy. He speaks a lot of sense and he has never promised us anything. I like his style of play and hope he is around for the long term, not the short.
People are saying 'get rid' but how can they wish him to go when he has had such a frustrating time trying to build a team? He has had to use loans but now he is bringing in players who he feels he can work with.
I know next season will be better than this IF we keep TM
