To be fair 433 doesn't allow for palmer and o hare really , 4231 allows for both to play their roles .

I think flipping between 433 and 4231 is what we’ll see fairly constantly now. Not convinced Eccles can do the holding role in a 4231 but looks v comfortable in a 433.

I reckon we buy another pivot in Jan and stick with 4231 assuming O’Hare stays fit and we don’t sell him.

Haven't watched the highlights yet but it looked a penalty for Birmingham and the Simms one seemed a red? Can never tell from the corner.

Can I just check, did we play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1? I sort of thought it was a bit of both at times but not sure exactly what we set up as.

Wasn’t a pen , Thomas did well not to hang a leg out but the Simms one could’ve easily been a red

I think there way a guy covering from memory but the ref was a bottler generally so no surprised. Birmingham had about ten handballs and he gave two I think.

I meant as in one can start one can come on , both get gametime

Thought you had some mad system with no strikers and two tens in mind.

Was even 4-4-2 at times with Cal as the second striker and Wright out wide left , other times is was 5-3-2 with Saka at RWB . Just shows the hard work on the training ground

It’s such a lovely fluid system. And why I was recommending it for ages. You’re welcome Robins.

Probably becoming boring with this now (nowt new there) but if we brought in Callum Styles and Max Bird we’d have the perfect options for both systems.

Collins has 4 clean sheets from 5 starts in the league, some going

Yeah 4 clean sheets in 5 games for a back 4 instead of wingbacks, and 4 cleansheets in 5 with Bidwell back in the team!

Tonight Collins made some great saves, and his distribution is so much better than Wilson.

The amount of times Collins looks like he’s miskicked it and it goes straight to one of ours in space on the halfway line is glorious. Just not used to it.

Palmers lack of movement would kill the system. If we can get O'Hare to sign a new contract Palmer should be moved on in January.

I think it’s more likely to be we move O’Hare on and play Palmer or a midfield three with Eccles/Allen and a new signing.

Just watched that Rooney interview on Sky, he’s quite weird. Talks really quietly and looks very timid. When you think how he played the game he is a very different manager it seems. Can’t imagine him inspiring a group of dejected players. He looked desperate for the interview to end and just churned out slightly negative cliches which he got wrong. Birmingham will struggle while he’s there I think.
Cognitive decline/disorder?
