There’ll be violence if I fucking hear that Doug King song again, so help me!

Best song in a while

See Mowbray is doing the old school, we have so many injuries but I can't tell you who they are. Expect a first choice team and no evidence of injuries. Used to work years ago lulling the opposition into a sense of false security, but wont work these days. So sad O'Hare hasn't played against them this season. Think he would really run them ragged.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek. To be honest every Friday feels like Christmas Eve when we're playing Saturday. Just a touch more anticipation with this one. Luton was more Xmas 1985 when I was getting a Mr Frosty. Tomorrow is more 1986 when I was in for a commodore 64.
I was hoping for a C64 and ended up with a vic 20 and a pair of Mike Air off Binz’s market stall.
I’ve kept my expectations low ever since

Feels like the biggest game of the season so far. Expecting us to really turn it on in front of a big noisy crowd. Proper springboard for the rest of the season.

We never seem to turn up in front of a big home crowd. Would be nice to put a Fulham style display on for once.

Wilson
McNally Fadz Doyle
Norton-Cuffy Hamer Palmer Eccles Bidwell
Gyokeres Godden

S: Moore, Dabo, Panzo, JWE, Allen, Maguire, Walker

Optimistic 1-0. McNally from a corner.

Fans of some clubs develop a dislike for each other, and sometimes when it's not entirely rational. No issue with this game having an edge. All good fun as long as it doesn't spill over.

The nonsense that lot spew, the abuse they aim at our club and city, all the Luftwaffe references, the 'hoying bags of piss' bullshit, Jimmy's in a box chants, can't help but be wound up by it. Yeah, can take it of course, but to beat them would be especially sweet.
My favourite was when one if them stated he still cries when he thinks of the Jimmy Hill game. Then he admitted he wasn't born until many years later 🙄

It's not going to be a big crowd.

Yeh the big crowd is in, let's keep up the momentum and keep the fans coming back game always seems to end badly for us.

I said it a few days ago, but even more so now, I’m really looking forward to today.

The Sunderland aspect adds an extra spice to the game, but for me it’s about the importance of three points - regardless of who the opposition is. Three points and three wins on the bounce is definite sign of intent we’re back in the hunt and we have an exciting end to the season.

I think we’ll do well today, their team is pretty average and are carried by one possible two players. The defence is slow and vulnerable, especially when against the best striker in the league.

Mowbray gave us a fantastic half season, but everything after that is on him. I hope MR outthinks him today; shouldn’t too hard to be fair.

2-0 City, Gyokeres x2.

We've had a similar sized crowd on numerous occasions for this team - not been a problem as far as I can remember.

Edit: Sunderland try and play good attacking football, as do we, so should be an entertaining game regardless of result. Fancy us to win, but wouldn't be surprised if either side won 3-2 to be honest. Interesting to see which Sunderland players might be missing - that, plus the extra rest could give us a bit of an advantage.

Worse still, Sunderland fans will say all that, plus sing songs about a dead man and yet will scream to you about how 'they don't care about Cov'.
Super odd, they bang on about us while saying they don't care. Tbf since they created this bizarre rivalry a few years back (and if you're looking you did create it you weird cunts) they haven't been able to beat us for toffee, so probably best to pretend you don't care.

Dabo ain't the player he used to be.
Today would be a good day to to get some form back!
