Of course much better to start another pointless row over somebody else's post than to express your own opinion on the subject that drew you into the thread in the first place - after all there aren't enough cyber-rows on here already ...
This !

Not my rules at all simply an observation that you browsed rge thread on a few occasions but only posted to suggest someone else's response was daft but not offer your own thoughts. Anyhow the irony is that the potential row I was deeming pointless I am now in part creating so my last post on the subject.
Double this this !!

So I looked back at the previous 4 seasons in this league

In 2012/13 we had a great run under Robins and would have been in contention near the end of the season if A) he had stayed and B) we hadn't had such an awful start, and C) if we hadn't had a points deduction. We had a run under Robins of P23 – W13 in the league. Without that we'd have been in a relegation dogfight without doubt

In 2013/14 we had a great run under Pressley for the first half of the season - P 23 W12 - if we'd kept that up all season we'd have been in the promotion contention despite the 10 point deduction. If we'd kept up the form for the second half of the season throughout the year, we'd have gone down even without the points deduction.

In 2014/2015 we didn't really have a strong run at any point which is why we were in a relegation dogfight - when TM came in he saved us with 5 wins in 15 games which was as good as it got - I still think if we'd carried on under SP we would have gone down.

IN 2015/16 we had a great run for the first 18 games in the league where we won 11 and apart from drubbing a couple of the smaller/weaker sides after that, we were in relegation form mode from December onwards and would have gone down without the strong start to the season.

The moral of the story here is that without a buzzing run at some point where we become one of the form teams in the league for a couple of months minimum, we are going to be in big big trouble - look above, the only season where we didn't have a sustained purple patch was the one where we nearly went down.

Eeeekk!!

another season of struggle, the low crowds feeds in to poorer finances, savings on costs, players and staff, decreasing confidence and reliance on youngsters not strong enough to cope........ the circle keeps going round and unhappily downward

I hope that we will be comfortably mid table but I fear I will be keeping everything crossed we are safe come next April

A little extra investment, and some decent decisions on players would make all the difference but I am not convinced that will happen .....17th or 18th

The first part was spoken like a true accountant while the last part had all the hall marks of optimism which I much prefer. :)

Assuming SISU stay my prediction is for a finish somewhere between 17th and 22nd. I think there is every possibility we could go down especially if SISU sell one or two of our better players in January.

Yep. Unless we recruit well we will go down I feel.

Also, we have to really think hard about losing the likes of Stevenson. Can we bring someone in of equal quality if we decide to sell?

Would say Stevenson is 100 times more important to us as a player right now than James Madison ever was.

I am absolutely convinced that we WILL sell though.

When will all this shite end..? I would like us to finish mid table but would gladly settle for non relegation but everything sadly is pointing to another sad chapter in our club yet again...what did we ever do to find such lack lustre owners? Are they Sunderland fans in disguise???

I guess we will find out when they make Nicky Summerbee the new operations director.

For a lot of us it might be the end of this season.
Seems to have reached a point where there is no hope of ever going up and every day just appears a little worse.
I guess the decision will be made when we have to fork out that £300+
Thank heaven for the Casinos pie and mash. Gives me something to look forward too this season.
