Can see lamps throwing a spanner in the works with team selection ahead of another 3 game week. Playing on the Friday has fell nicely for us.

You’d think if we were going to rest people it would be Tuesday, at home, team lower in the league, halfway between the two. Does feel like our alternate starting XI is more of an away side though.

Agreed, from relegation back in 2001, it was a state of managed decline. I fell into this category but was also at uni in those dark days. Seen Marcus Tudgay and Sam Ricketts doing my shopping (we had Morecambe away in the cup) and genuinely couldn't care.

In fairness to myself, as soon as I back in Cov, got a ST (even if under utilised) so distance was a big factor in my disillusionment.
Why were Tudgay and Ricketts doing your shopping?

I'm really not comfortable going on an opposition forum and reading that 90% of their fans expect a hammering off us. I know it won't be as easy as that, but would love it if it is. Like others have suggested, bar crosses to Moore, and possibly the threat from the Man City loanee (Kabore), I can't see where the danger is from them (which is very unlike me). They did draw at Boro' though, so aren't complete mugs.

Watford forum predicted similar and they’re a better side than Wrexham.

Yeah I get that. Me too. Someone said earlier, most games feel like a banana skin and so far we’ve made it. We could pump these or have an off night or no luck. We will lose at some point and when we do, how we react is a big sign

You will get a handful come over but they probably have more money than sense. The point though was Wrexhams fanbase hasnt been swamped by people coming from America. Their crowds are the same as last time they were at level 2. They will always be a small club as their population is roughly the same as Nuneaton and they are within an hours drive of Liverpool & Manchester where there are plenty of bigger clubs.
Bigger catchment than Nuneaton. My father in law was a regular attender and he lived in Abergele on the north Wales coast. 25 miles away. Wrexham have only tranmere to compete with.

They were outplayed by Middlesbrough and got a point. Middlesbrough have only won 3 out of their last 8 games.

Wrexham are not very good defensively. There's only 4 sides that have conceded more goals. We're the top scorers by miles. I wouldn't be confident if I was them either.

Just saw Grimes on SSN being interviewed from Ryton. Anyone see what was said?
It’s going well
I’m enjoying the football
Feet firmly on the ground
One game at a time
Made a great start
Not achieved anything
Fighting for the boys
Lampard has high expectations and we believe we can achieve good things with hard work
Fans have been brilliant

That was me guessing

Had a week to prepare so I’m sure Frank and the coaches will have either planned for that or assume we’ll score more and keep it as it is

It's going to be a similar pattern as against Portsmouth, 3,4,3 isn't it.

Rushworth
Thomas Woolf Kitch
KKH Torp Grimes JDS
BTA Simms EMC

Haji, Eccles & Saka to come on in 2nd half, in fact Haji might start on the left.

There are plenty of options

Got my head in the clouds as usual and apologies if this was posted somewhere but is Vic fit now? Great news if so.

He’ll only be on the bench if we have more injuries. There are no others available
If Torp is back, he'll drop out. Not sure anyone will complain about that. Hopefully Rudoni back soon too.

Do think we'll see Shepherd on the pitch at some point this year though. Maybe FA Cup if we get an appropriate draw.

This is a Wrexham podcast but obviously there's a lot of Cov chat in there including a chat with Turner.

Is switching to back 3 against a team who have an isolated looking Kiefer Moore up front a good move? Not sure.

I don't know enough about him to make judgement. I don't mind him being on the bench if Lampard judges him better than others available.
George Shepherd is a very talented young player...
having him in the first team squad makes it a fair bit more difficult for other Clubs to approach him,he has an agent already and a good family looking after his best interests.

Just psychologically I assume? There’s nothing like we’re due more if he’s played or anything is there? Or is there?

No we wouldn't be due more but he can't be approached without the Club being involved now.

Weird that isn’t the case when he’s just in the academy tbh. Either break under 16s off from pro clubs entirely or respect it the same for me.

Not even that, we've pulled in people who always considered themselves fans of the club but weren't quite passionate enough to be supporters when we were playing in League 2.

I know loads of people from school who were big Cov fans who just became disenfranchised.

Not really “fans” if they couldn’t be arsed when we were shit though, were they.

Fans now sure, and that’s great - love a full arena and seeing City shirts everywhere.

But where can I claim my Super Fan badge?
