They are literally in the same league. And they’re not a league rival. We’re competing with Norwich, WBA, Boro.
Not with parachute payment club with 5 x the wage budget

Selling Rudoni now would be a major disappointment. Key player last season and got better with every game. Unlikely to be a one season wonder with the kind of progression under Lampard. We’ve already started the season and to pull a major player (that you’ve not planned for on replacement) would have a massive impact to the season.
Just an observation from last night. Rudoni was literally pushed to singers corner as lead usually taken up by MVEwas that his bowing out?
That’s just not how the transfer window works though. Clubs are losing key players every day this week and that will continue until the final day of the window….. in fact we need it to because we hope to temp clubs into selling us some of their key players !If we were going to sell him then it had to be done in June. Doing it now would leave us in the shit with a closing window.
complete nightmare scenario.
Nobody’s paying 20 million for rudoni, he’s had a good half a season
There are quite a few examples over the past few years of our players who did not, in fact, get over it.With respect I don't have to think of the player. He's signed a contract and earns good money. We'd be denying him a move to league rival, he'd get over it.
We've had players 1 year into a 4 year contract who have kicked off at not being allowed to go to a league rival since King took over and claimed we want to be challenging at the top end of the table? There are quite a few examples over the past few years of our players who did not, in fact, get over it.
Well if you’re going to be that specific, no….We've had players 1 year into a 4 year contract who have kicked off at not being allowed to go to a league rival since King took over and claimed we want to be challenging at the top end of the table?
You’d have thought that with Sheaf

Within the next 2 weeks?I think £20m is very close to the point where you have to seriously consider it.
£22.5m + 15% would seal it for me because with that we could bring in a direct replacement, CB and winger.
The problem is as we saw under SISU there isn’t a tonne of wealthy people wanting to buy Coventry City in the championship, a club who don’t own their own stadium. If you want to go for promotion you don't sell your best players, simple. Rudoni is worth 10-15 goals, 10-15 assists, where is that going to come from. We sold Gus for 15million yet we have never replaced him even if we spent 30 million because he was unique, as is Rudoni. Would we have got promoted if we had Gus last season? Possibly yes.
King wants us in the premier, he is a business person not a football person and to get promotion you have to invest, must invest, you cannot do it by wheeling and dealing. If we do not have money and King doesn't want to invest his own money you are leaving yourself at the mercy of the gods. However, if you want success, like Brum and Wrexham, you must invest or sell up.
But at the same time you have to make sure you maximise their value. You can't improve the squad if you're only willing to part with back up players. If you want to go for promotion you don't sell your best players, simple. I don't think its even worth talking about Jack leaving this window. Unless he bangs on the door of Doug any move in the championship is a sideways step and a risk to his development.
He seems to be enjoying his football at a club he like with a squad he fits into. He is a fan favorite and is working with his idol. If he wasn't improving as a player nobody would be looking, but he knows or has good advisors that will see any move a risk. The only way he goes to another championship team is if he gets offered a salary he cant turn down or an offer Doug cant turn down.
In my opinion i dont see hom being about money, i see a happy player who knows the path he is going to take. And is a club that provides another step closer to playing at the top level.
Southampton have a 4x chance of getting promoted than us you think? It’s not a sideways step. The reality is that he’d double his wages and quadruple his chances of being a premier league player in 12 months time

Yes exactly that.Southampton have a 4x chance of getting promoted than us you think?
CrikeyYes exactly that.
There's also no guarantee that Rudoni doesn't get a serious injury this season, it's always going to be a risk based decision and to some extent a test of how confident the recruitment team are they have the right targets identified to use the money.People who say we should sell for say 15-20 million and reinvest in a striker and centre back, but the thing is there’s no guarantee spending say 10 million on a striker going to get you anything better than we have , stick with Rudoni this season and see what happens and if we fail to make the playoffs we can sell next summer and start again.
because we're not competing with them. We're competing with Norwich, WBA, Boro and the like.Love the fact we're getting told Southampton are 4x more likely to get promoted with their obvious financial benefits from PL relegation and being able to sell players at inflated prices because they put in a couple of half decent displays in the PL.. and the way we compete with clubs who already have these advantages is apparently to sell our best players directly to them.
Make it make sense.
Our aim to get out if the division. We are competing with them.because we're not competing with them. We're competing with Norwich, WBA, Boro and the like.
You give yourself the best chance you can of finishing in the top 6 and then fingers crossed. If that means flogging Rudoni to a top 2 side, so you can reinvest, then so be it.
