He is 2nd top goalscorer in league 1 with 4 goals in a poor Bristol rovers side - would he have fitted in our side

Don't forget he has an attitude problem too.

Mark Robins is building a team both on and off the pitch.

With crosses now going into the box he may well have he is far superior to Biamou.

We didnt play to his strengths, which isnt a problem as the football we play now is really good to watch, but that didn't suit him and he didn't suit what Robins wanted to do.

On his day he was unplayable last season, but he was hit and miss.

Hopefully he will score another 15 and find a championship team in January.

Then Rovers can use the funds to sign a striker that they've always wanted... Baka!

He is doing very well, you can't argue with that. His goal yesterday was unreal. We saw flashes of it, but it didn't quite work here. Sometimes a player moves to a new club and they're just the perfect fit. That's happened for him and he has cult hero status down there now, so good luck to him.

Well he’d be a better option if Godden was injured - is Biamou injured again?

He's done really well, I'm pleased for him but his time was up here as he obviously didn't suit what we were trying to do.

Strange to think when we picked him up it was only us and Chesterfield interested.

Nice overhead kick yesterday from him, have the impression Robins wants a squad of players wanting to be a part of something together, never quite sure that JCH fitted that.

I agree about the crosses bit. I disagree about the comparison to Biamou. Until his injury, Max was clearly ahead in the pecking order and I think was the better player.

He had a nasty steak I like that and we still miss that in the team if the opposition were like yesterday big string and rough who you you prefer Brown and JCH or Biamou and McCallum?

JCH has been doing well since he left us, I always liked him and surprised we let him go for free.

But, if he was causing disruption in the squad, then Robins is absolutely right to bin him off. The team is more important than any individual.

Hope he has another one before we play them next - might give him some tummy troubles.

Max was certainly ahead in the pecking order and, at that time, was outperforming JCH.
However, I liked JCH and think he had more about his game. Was it that 1-1 draw against Sunderland at home? Absolutely battered their defenders. He also clearly had some skills. Shame we didn’t see his full potential.

Neither were starting games at the start of last season and to suggest Biamou is any way comparable as a player is just silly

I agree. There were times when JCH looked like a really good player. He didn’t do it enough though.

Biamou started the first game against Scunthorpe and also started against Blackpool when he got injured. I don’t even think that JCH was in the squad at that stage.

Really nasty, I like how he used to try injure defenders toes by throwing his body on them as soon as they touched him. The hard bastard.

Yep. Im pretty sure JCH was only signed as we’d agreed to do so as part of his loan deal.
At that time I’d figured we wouldn’t see him again.

We didn't let him go for free. Sure we got a fee and a sell on clause

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that there was no fee, just a sell-on clause.

If there has been a fee, does anyone have an idea of what fee we received?

I'm not sure JCH would've fitted in to this squad.

Ability wise he'd add something different and improve on what we have, but he seems to be a player that needs to feel the love and have the game played to suit his style - if it isn't he quickly loses heart and is a shadow of the player he can be and has been at Bristol. When he's on fire he's amazing, but when he's not he's terrible and you know after 15-20 minutes if you need to bring him off because he's just not at it today. Also Godden is better than him at more things IMO so he'd only be on the bench as an option, and he wouldn't be happy with that.

The thing is with Max if he's having a bad day you still seem to get the effort and working for the team. You know what you're going to get. Plus he can pull a worldie out of nowhere.

He would be a great sub/impact player when we need to change games up. He is far superior to Max and Baka. But he no doubt (rightly) sees himself as a starter which we couldn’t offer him so right decision to move on.

Out of curiosity, where did this rumour about him having a bad attitude come from? Is it based purely on his tattoos and swagger or did something actually happen?

That is some statement.

No doubt by your admiration of the man when he eventually becomes fit he will be pushing Godden out of the team....
