I have on several occasions expressed how much I enjoyed watching him in League One, more so than many a player for us and although understandably sceptical, I was excited about us signing him. I'm not about to start nailing into him like some have done without knowing the full picture, but it is hardly surprising that some people are expecting the worse. We have taken a risk signing him and seemingly he's fallen at the first hurdle. It *COULD* be a massive coincidence and he genuinely had a reason, but it doesn't exactly look good does it?

This is a fair post, I think the issue here if there’s not a genuine reason, that there’s a lack of respect for his manager and teammates. How long that will be tolerated for in what is likely to be another tough season will be interesting

Looks as if some of the usual suspects have it in for Bright - without any idea of the circumstances.

Not sure why anyone on here would want any of our players to fail (always find that astonishing - think someone on here was even asking for Bright's contract to be ripped up); like most of our fans I hope this is a storm in a tea cup and look forward to Bright being a game changer this season. He's a talent and he's our player.

Let's support the lads vs. trying to look for negatives or demand a player's dismissal without any facts?

He's innocent until proven guilty but it's understandable why many have jumped the gun and are annoyed as it's not a great look. Especially when his past is as chequered as it is - with punctuality (or lack there of) seemingly being one of his main issues.

So we basically agree?

Demanding a player be sacked pre-season without knowing the circumstances or having facts - I don't think that's defendable.

As always I will trust in Robins to take the right course of action with full facts - he knows what he is doing.

Why on earth some of us always have to look for negatives and drastic measures I have no idea - not sure who said it earlier but we should be talking about the positive performance yesterday?

My viewpoint, Waghorn looks like a fantastic addition - would love to see how he plays with a fully fit Godden. And for the first time since Stockdale we have a keeper who looks confident collecting crosses. Finally Drysdale - more and more assured - doubts about his pace but his passing is first class. If we get 2-3 loans of first team quality - could be an enjoyable season.

Got it KSB.
On the other hand if it's 1-1 vs, Forest with 20 mins to go and we want to go all out to win; there would be no one more I'd like to see running onto the pitch than Bright to work some magic.
We're 2-3 loan signings away from looking half decent so prefer to focus on the positives.

That could well happen. He certainly has the talent but without the application or motivation to go hand in hand with his talent, then its meaningless.

If it does turn out that he's been acting up before the season has even started, it's not a brilliant omen regardless of how positive you want to try and remain.

If the late arrival is correct and it's because he forgot, wonder who the first fan will be with "Not so Bright" on their back ;)

Alternatively, I remember on one of the Sky Blue Extra podcasts, Jack Grimmer telling about the time Bright missed a training session as he was in Germany. Perhaps this may be very similar.... plane delayed somewhere in Europe and Bright was stuck.

I did. We’ve stuck our neck out for the guy and he’s on probation and he’s missed a game before we’ve even started the season.

If it’s anything other than a cast iron verifiable excuse I’d tell him to piss off. If he’s not serious about his career we can’t afford to be paying him.

re Bright - its a good job George Best , Maradona etc never played for us , they would have been crucified

Fucking hell. This bloke is a poor mans Peter Bodak - I’d take George Best

Surely the most embarrassing post of all. Best and Maradonna - flawed genius - vs Bright what’s is name - flawed nobody

Have a word

I rate Bright as a talent but I have to agree with you here. What a dreadful comparison. Maybe Thornton was our Gazza!

He was clearly referring to the attitude / trouble the players cause, not the ability. As you well know.

I don’t think he’s any proven ability
