Remember, last season Callum Wilson for example was a low earner to begin with but signed a new better contract around xmas time, that was to secure his value I believe, lets all be honest his rise to the heights he achieved was a surprise and a bonus to the club but that happens. Anyone who expects any of these transfer fee incomes to be spent on new players are living in cloud cuckoo land. The money received is simply to help pay our way this season

But that's not what's been claimed by our owners, is it? We've sold our best, most promising player (again) to struggle in the third division, 40 miles from home in front of miniscule crowds, isn't how it has been portrayed

SISU have received about 4m so far this year. How much do you think the outgoings are if 4m will only help? Or do you count legal fees, preparing Northampton's pitch and similar?

Pulling figures out the air: wages will be roughly £2m, interest on the loans about the same. That's the money gone already.

IT's been allluded by Pressley and the Club our wage bill this season will sit around £1.5M.

We targeted £2.5M last season ,Pressley was quoted Wolves had a wage bill 4 times ours ,distorted possibly by still receiving Parachute Money .

The ceiling for this division would be £ 5-6M. for a club the size of Sheff UTD,even theirs has been distorted by receiving Tevez Compo,so £5M absolute ceiling In this Div.

Wolves wage bill must have been at least £15m if not c£20m+ last season, they still had players on PL contracts. The season before in the championship it was £31.1m

Sorry Stu had a look can't find anything conclusive but reading various reports Articles I'd wager you are nearer the mark.

Maybe It was Brentford or Orient which i found questionable at the time.:(:)

@ stupot07....."£500k contribution to the academy"..........................................Would that be the £500k given to the Club from the FL for being a "Class 2" Academy???

Could be wrong, but don't the club have to match that figure?

Wasn't there something about Higgs facilities being the reason we got "Class 2" status whilst SISU reneged on payments for repairing the equiptment?

@ Monners.....I don't think so mate.

City's EPPP Status Confirmed
As expected, Coventry City's Academy has been awarded Category 2 status under the new Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
The EPPP which is heavily weighted in favour of the Premier League clubs with big budgets, means that City were given the second status due to not being able to meet the required budget requirements of £2.325m and have eighteen full time staff that is required to be a category one club.
In order to satisfy the new rules, City proved that they were able to meet the requirements of an estimated budget of £969k and will be allowed to take players from the age of four and sign players from the age of nine.

The new EPPP means that City will now only be able to charge a club wishing to buy one of their youngsters £25k per year that they have had a player between the ages of 12 and 16.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The club get funding of 480k and put in 480k of the clubs money also.

How many kids are in the academy at any one time?

You'd need more than 40 players for that £25k per year for a player to even start to make sense.

It's so complex .

Isn't there an element where they receive a fee for every batch of ten games played for the new club.

What about the wages for coaches, physio's, renting and upkeep of pitch's, travel expenses travelling to games, professional development of coaches, etc? Surely all that's part of the budget?

Or after seeing Wingy's post am I barking up the wrong tree and you mean the new compensation payments for having you're youngsters poached?
