Agree with some of that, but they must also take blame for the lack of success of ACL and heavy reliance on tenant that uses the facilities 23-25 days per annum.

When you think about it, they have benefit from £2.5m+ per annum income from the club, when you take into account rent, match day charges, F&Bs then associated income like stand naming rights, parking, etc

Match day expenses include things like the police which isn't cheap. This money doesn't go into ACL's pocket. There will be match day expenses whoever owns the ground or lease.

The stadium was built mainly to be a football ground. The bit of grass in the middle and seating is arranged for football. So the main use is for about 1 month of the year. Just the same as any other football ground. The clever part is whatever other use they can get out of it. They seem to be getting better at it.

The running of a football ground isn't easy without experience. Just the same as running a football club isn't easy without experience. Our team only started to look up again once Waggott was employed. Mistakes have been made on both sides. Some big ones as well. It just depends which way we go forward.

Shall we keep on blaming Richardson from years ago? Or anyone to do with our club from when SISU took over? Shall we keep blaming ACL/CCC for the problems of our club considering that the rent came to less than 15% of income? Shall we blame them for our club being relegated and the vast reduction of crowds?

It can all be twisted in any way anybody wants. Looking for reasons to blame someone won't take our club forward. Infighting with our fans won't help. Our club has been run badly for a long time. What we do need more than anything else is our fans to come together no matter what or who they blame. I am the same as the vast majority of us. I have had enough of debating the same things over and over again. Some people come out with their same facts when they know they are false. This isn't helping.

I'm not blaming them for the wage bill. That was Richardson and McGinnity. I blame them for the rent though.

You shouldn't, by all accounts it was the clubs preferred deal and despite the odd mention in meeting notes they didn't ever do much to reduce it. All the way up to Delieu we were saying there's no problem with the rent.

The fact of the matter is even with free rent we'd only be £53m in debt instead of £60m.

The club asked to change it 3 months after they moved in. "The fact of the matter" is that since this deal the club has been insolvent regardless of owners.

You will have forgotten that I posted about this before: there were talks about the rent and licence fee, they ended when the Club rejected a sliding scale rent and licence fee as they preferred the fixed rent and licence fee that they had first negotiated.

The Club's debts were unsustainable long before 2005.

You should know by now that ACL/CCC are to blame for all of our ills :facepalm: :laugh:

Thought I would bring this back to light as I have been reading up on it a little .......

Now obviously it is more complicated than this, but if the Ricoh did become an asset of community value, does that mean that if it were up for sale us ordinary folk could club together and buy it? If we could, could we not offer CCFC to play there rent free? Would JS still refuse to bring CCFC back without the freehold?
