Still without a club. You would have thought by now some club would have picked him up. I’m sure to some clubs seeing a player that’s played most of last seasons games in the Championship as quite a coup, especially if his agent is touting his highlight real which has quite a few corker goals in there.

I’ve been doing a bit of digging and it appears last month he was linked with Maccabi Petah Tikva who are 11th out of 14 in the Israeli Premier League.

For saying you had some fans here disappointed we weren’t offering him a new contract he would have been at least able to find a mid table club in League One.

Baka managed to get a contract at Bolton no real issue and Hiwula has joined Doncaster… weird to see that Biamou has gone quiet. Wasn’t a prolific goal scorer but wasn’t a bad player

Very weird. Not even as though wages are the issue. Was never really going to be a championship star but certainly held his own last season when called upon. He must’ve had offers from lower league clubs.

I don't think it's anything to do with clubs not wanting him. He could do a very good job in L2 and even in L1 for someone.

Maybe he isn't bothered, maybe he is spending time with family etc, and will get a team down the line.

He has cane to a number of City games, so Im wondering if he has chosen to have a year break or something, or wait till Jan and spend time with family

I can’t imagine whatever wage he was on here he’s in a position to take a year break. He signed a new contract on the back of League 2 promotion

Reminds me of the same fans who predicted Thorn would go onto great things as a manager post CCFC.

Theres probably about another 100 championship out of contract players not yet picked up. Nothing unusual sign of the times.

He's hardly been on a Jack Wilshere wage.

I thought he would head back to France or Belgium, it probably demonstrates the impact the pandemic has had globally.

Tbh I thought Sutton would be calling now they're a league club. Initially I assumed wanted more money than on the table and clubs had other options, then perhaps aspirations of playing higher than any offers, but I am surprised he hasn't gone anywhere yet. With our bomb squad and him being local I wonder if he's using the facilities and keeping fit at Ryton or he could struggle now 30+ when he does get signed.

I think a lot of players still without a club

I suppose if you don’t need the money you can just chill for a bit

Perhaps he’s looking at something outside of football? Didn’t he get educated before going pro?

He's still really well thought of at Sutton - as are we actually. There's a really good affinity between both clubs.

I was speaking to one of the directors at the club about Max, about a month ago, and he said he had options in the US and Middle East but didn't know where he'd end up.

I am surprised he's not got something sorted though - maybe he is injured or having some time out.

Would he have any issues in relation to a work permit now?

I'd heard he had a club in Saudi lined up but, as their season is now well underway, I'm guessing that fell through.

All closed in Europe, assume it’s the same elsewhere?

Can’t you make free transfers at any point of the season? I thought transfer windows only closed for transfers or loans but not for frees

Hasn’t stopped Morgan Williams, Bakayoko Marosi and I think even Kastaneer getting clubs?

Should be aiming a bit higher than that shouldn’t he? Bakayoko managed to get a move to a League 1 club

He's a free agent so no transfer will be involved
