If we're 9 points clear of third place but still need bare minimum four new signings "to give it a proper go", how many do Middlesbrough need? Ten? Fifteen?

The idea that the team 8 points clear at the top of the league "needs" to bring in four or more players to get through the season just doesn't hold water to me.

The team that started today still has three of the season's best performers (BTA, Torp and Dasilva) yet still to return. It has two of last season's best players (Wright and Rudoni) going through a grim run of form which is not likely to continue at current levels. The squad is lacking proper backup options out wide and could arguably do with some more competition up front, but with 21 games left you can trust this squad to finish the job without needing a major overhaul - that comes in the summer instead.
It's the fact that after winning so many games there are so many people who feel the need for a full disection after a run of form of DWLD!!!

It doesn't matter. Wright isn't a back up to emc and that's it

Simple as that

Wasn't long ago Simms was one playing shite. They will both shine and dissapoint at different times.

likeihood is we wont see signings until after norwich - we always seem to take our time
I doubt very much we will be taking our time, they won't have waited till 11.59 on new years eve to start conversations with potential targets.

Let's see!

Yes, but it doesn't help when you drop the one shining for the one disappointing.

We won first game wright came back in
And? Simms was scoring and impacting games, Wright wasn't, nor looking like contributing much.

Ask yourself if the roles were reversed and Wright was in a rich scoring vein while Simms wasn't and looking a bit disinterested, what would your opinion be if Wright had been dropped for Simms? Even if we won the next game?

If we win next game I wouldn't care

I’d be happy with a 90% accurate human clone, or even just a mannequin that Lampard can control remotely from the sidelines.
I’d be happy if Frank strapped Rudoni to a chair and made him watch videos of how Grimes plays over and over for the next couple of weeks.

“…Jack my old son, if Matt gets injured pretend to be him and play like that and cut out those silly stopovers….”
