One of my fav albums of recent times was ‘Secrets of Angels’ by Karnataka. For me the vocals of Haley Griffiths (classically trained) made a very good album great. Unfortunately the band split but Ian Jones, the founder, has in collaboration with others worked on a prog rock, Celtic, world music project. The band Chasing the Monsoon have recently released ‘No Ordinary World’. Some tracks decent but not, for me, up to the previous bands heights.
Haley Griffiths has formed her own band...great voice but somehow the package not the same as when working with Ian Jones.
Here is title track from secrets of angels...it’s 20mins long...drives wife and son insane...but I think it’s superb.

Been listening to Creed a lot lately. Human Clay the album is brilliant. Some tracks I keep playing over and over, Say I, Faceless Man, With Arms Wide Open, 3 great songs. It's from 1999 and worth checking out if not heard before.

The band laughed at that tag attached to their music. They are a hard rock band so where that came from is a puzzle ?

I suppose there are a lot of ‘thoughtful’ lyrics that some might see as Christian and/or spiritual. They produced some good stuff but I’m sure they didn’t see themselves (nor did their fans) as a Christian Rock Band.

3 members left and are now Alter Bridge.
I was surprised when I read the Christian tag as they are nothing like that type of music. With Arms Wide Open has that spiritual feel about it, so maybe stems from that track ? Great band though.

It came from the son of a minster using biblical imagery in their lyrics.

They are still gash christian or not though

Just watched a clip on youtube Ohio State Marching Band Fighting Aggie's.I think our services are great at this sort of thing but these guys can give them a run for their money.Remember a yankie band playing at H R in the sixties may have been the Morton friendly and really enjoyed the show they put on then.

Planet Rock featuring my Rockblock on Saturday 1pm. They said sorry they won't be playing my Beatles track, but they will play many of my other choices. Fair enough. Planet Rock not into the Beatles then !

Just been out for a drink with friends and someone mentioned the band Magna Carta. Hadn’t played any of their stuff for years but here is Lord of the Ages. Not to everyone’s taste I’m sure but get beyond the opening monologue and I think it’s worth a listen for those who like Prog Rock.

I've found myself going back there more and more in the past few years.
It's incredible the childhood/ youth family memories induced, from a buried subconscious.
It's pretty good exercise for a fairly dormant mind.
They joy of finding the obscure ones fuels it.

I love loads of them, but two that spring to mind are "Mother" from 'The Wall' and "Learning to Fly" from 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason'. Oh, and a track that gets the crowd going at a PF concert, "Run".

I really like Atom Heart Mother. Great album that always seems to be forgotten.
