I'm beginning to think we're a complacent lot of fans, who seem to think the problem is somehow going to go away without us having to take any REAL action. We seem to think huffing and puffing away on this forum is somehow going to make a difference. It's no good just shouting at sisu, demanding a return to Coventry, being outraged by the lies we've been told, making our petty little divided attempts at protests, and continuing to blame blame blame, which never got anyone anywhere. We are NOT MAKING OURSELVES HEARD!! No other club of any stature would just stand there and take it on the chin like we do. We, our reaction to what's going on, the fans, are becoming a laughing stock, and I personally feel ashamed that we can't unite in a 'we mean business' kind of way. No wonder players want out, no wonder it's hard to attract talent...who wants to play at Northampton in front of no-one. Footballers are performers, they like an audience...there isn't one at Coventry City Football Club. Why are we so scared to boycott sixfields altogether till the end of the season for instance??!!! Or why are we so scared to descend on Northampton in unmanageable numbers and cause peaceful yet logistical chaos?!! Why aren't we prepared to take more extreme measures, that the national press can't ignore!! We're just pussy-footing around, we, us, the fans, witnessing no change, and moaning about it endlessly, when we're partly responsible, and producing nothing more than hot air to offer!!! I don't care who's pro-sisu, anti-sisu, political, non-political, who goes to sixfield and who doesn't bla bla bla...none of that really matters.... what does matter is that we wake up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...and it is...it really is!!!!

Standup, you are so right. First game of the season at Crawley I was sitting in the side stand. About 7 or 8 City fans ran on the pitch. I waited for the thousand or so on the terrace behind the goal to follow and do a sit in protest on the centre circle. It never happened. On this forum after the few that ran on the pitch were ridiculed. This was the big chance to set the mark and we missed it.
The Arsenal thing was great to be part of, but it isn't enough.

So agree...and have you noticed how reluctant people are to respond or contribute to this post...says it all doesn't it!

The problem is the 90 / 10 percent division amongst the fans re a boycott, so there's no unity. Completely respect the individual's right to choose and all that, but if no one had attended the first few games at Sixfields I really believe we'd be back at the Ricoh by now.

Thing is we know the story, we know nothing different is going to happen. It's like learning a new game and once you know the rules you can play. Well we know the rules here, there's nothing new to learn, so time to get on and DO SOMETHING significant!!!

I'd invite Coventry Sphinx to play at the Ricoh for the rest of this season. Would help them. Give us a team playing in Coventry. I know it's a touchy subject but desperate measures and all that....

It's not too late...if those concerned have the courage. Such a small step really when you consider the bigger picture and long term history of our club.

To get more people to act like this you need a team you can be proud of, no disrespect to the lads we have at the minute but they don't exactly fill your heart with joy regularly enough to warrant these kind of actions.

What utter rubbish...what Pressley and the team are doing under the cicumstances is nothing short of a miracle...they have absolute commitment, and deserve ours to put them back on the map. It's people like you who need to change their thinking!

Whilst he huffs and puffs on this forum.

You are right in what you are saying, but you aren't offering any solutions. And I doubt any 'extreme action' for example running on the pitch would have any real impact other than points deductions and bans.

Be there. If we really want to make a difference as you say, we need to rally. Have to hold my hand up and say I am just as guilty in my inaction, but fully intend to be there on Monday evening,

Talk is cheap on a internet forum. There needs to be a call to arms. The call though has to be to canvass all sides in this matter. We can't just keep pointing the finger only at Sisu. This is going to take all sides to have a fresh approach and in many ways, not look to the past, but to start from scratch.

I don't fancy getting a ban for something that I believe will have no effect other than possible points deductions for the club.
It's that's pathetic then so be it.

Any sensible ideas and I'll get involved. Other than the march before the season started I'm yet to see one. (which also had no effect)
The when/why was good, it has got us national attention, but won't ultimately change anything.

Well said that man. We need something big like the demo through the town center, but it needs to be more than once. Once gets a mention in the papers, weekly and it becomes more of a problem and hence gets more attention. How when and what we do needs some good planning, I also agree that if the rest of the crowd at Crawley would have got on the pitch a) it would of saved thouse that did any fines etc, and B) it would of held up the game and worked as a protest. As it was it just got a handfull thrown out or knicked.....

Again I hold my hand up as to not of doing much about this, but I also say now, if something big is planned, what ever it is. I will be there and I will drag as many with me as I can.

How about organising a pitch invasion at sixfields? Obviously it'll have to involve people that don't go down there because those that do go down won't join in im sure.

Surely a couple of hundred going on the pitch and sitting in the centre circle bringing the game to a halt would make the news?

We went through this before the Sheff U game on sky which was the perfect opportunity to make ourselves heard. It never took off mainly due to peolple not wanting to pay money to SISU to get into sixfields. Why not do it at away games? We look like taking 3000+ to Notts C, if you can get just 1/3 to "sit in" on the pitch before the match you will cause major disruption. Start doing that at every away game and after 2 or 3 you will be causing a massive problem for the football league. There is no way banning orders will be handed out to 1000-1500 fans.

Away clubs will have to start forking out huge policing fees, they will start to get pi$$ed off and will want the Football league to do something about it. "But them we will lose the sympathy of the football community" Where has this got us? Yea we have 60000 fans applauding on Friday night, theyd have forgotten about us Saturday morning.

The football league & FA are the key, they make the rules, they curently have 23/24 happy clubs in L1 and a minor niggle in us that they can sweep under the carpet for 3 years. Action needs to be taken however it needs organisation on the scale of Why/when.

We need to keep our plight in the public eye so the march and Why/When protest were and are important.

But I think the only thing that will influence SISU is money.

May I suggest because of NOPM we subsidise some fans to go into Sixfields (Sky Blue Commandos).
We fill the hill with fans and at some point the SBC open the exit doors and let the hill in and onto the pitch.

Skybluebal, as I said earlier. I'm 67. I'm looking for the thousands of young blokes who support us to be a bit more proactive.
But if enough people are up for it, I'd do it too.
