My biggest issue is the beer , I have a couple of cans most nights then quite a few at the weekend . Really need to break the habit , still a bit stiff and sore from Tuesday night but will go for a run laterI do a boxing bootcamp thing with circuits around bags etc, can't beat it for fitness. I've been running as well but ran the other day when I probably should have rested and getting a burning pain around my left hip so blanking the running but still doing the class. Hopefully just a strain. I've reduced my beer intake too and lost 3Ib in a week.

you're right. can you tell ive never used either?!That's Slimming World isn't it?
Weightwatchers I'm not sure what the methodology is, though it's definitely not sustainable weight loss because the business model is premised on the opposite.

It quite clearly does work, its worked for millions and millions. Just because there are flaws to it doesn't mean it doesnt work on the whole. It's much more reliable than any other diet fadThat doesn't work, it's flawed.

Why Calorie Counting Doesn’t Work
Calorie counting is one of the most popular ways to try and lose weight. Here, we’ll explain why it doesn’t work — and what does.zoe.com

Weight-loss jabs will be a “game-changer” for the economy, Wes Streeting has said.
A study, based on government modelling, suggests that the rollout of injections could save taxpayers £5 billion a year by dramatically boosting productivity.
The research found that prescribing jabs to about four million people could save an average of £1,100 per person annually – with an average of five fewer sick days for those taking the medication.
Treasury officials are already understood to be examining the case for wider rollout, with particular interest in the impact of the jabs on productivity and worklessness.
Economists said that rolling out jabs more widely would mean an average of five fewer sick days for those on the jabs, and 12 extra productive days for activities such as childcare.
In total, around £4.5 billion would be saved annually, from improved productivity and lower reliance on NHS and care services, the study found.
The potential economic gains of using weight loss jabs to get people back to work could vastly outweigh the sums Labour has raised through a plethora of taxes.

Ozempic Killed Diet and Exercise

Anything that helps combat obesity and save lives is a positive. I'd love there to be a monumental shift in attitudes towards promoting healthy eating / less processed food, but that's never going to happen with the money behind these corporations.Sure I’m not sure anyone has ever said otherwise. I thought the trial results were interesting though.
Totally agree. There are loads of studies linking a healthy gut biome to improved mental health. Since I cut out all processed food I can say thats true for me also.Anything that helps combat obesity and save lives is a positive. should
In my opinion. I should have said. I'd wager those who do prioritise their gut biome and avoiding non processed food are much healthier physically and mentally than those that dont on average though.According to who?

Theres been lots of studies into Gut health and its links to mental health and weight loss.I think anyone that cares enough about their diet to follow a strict diet of any kind is likely to be healthier on average. I just think placing non scientific limits on how people can manage their weight is a bit silly.

Oh no absolutely. I just think for people using weight loss jabs, they need to back them up with healthy habits around that too.Sure. I think what I’m saying is don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Like mental health anything that works is good stuff. No need to get bogged down in the absolute perfect way for every person. If it was as easy a few probiotic yoghurts or a gym membership we wouldn’t be where we are. Need all the tools to fight it.
Its so easy to get in to bad habits. I leave for work before 8, walk a few yards to my desk and then the vast majority of days don't get a break until I leave. Then its sitting in the car for 45 minutes to drive home. On a good day I'll get home at 7pm. I've then got 3 ish hours to exercise, make & eat dinner, deal with 2 elderly parents and any other things that need doing.I was saying somewhere else, I’m not someone who enjoys exercise outside of five a side, but when I’ve lived somewhere walkable I regularly walked and kept on top of my weight. I’m the same person in the same environment, but little things really add up around how you live your life. But “first reorganise society” doesn’t help people in the here and now. It’s one reason why I’m so pro walkable cities and public transport tho. So many huge pressures against a healthy activity level, car focus, WFH, time pressures.
Yep. this is why WFH is so crucial for me, it really supports my ability to keep in healthy habits. Theres no wonder I'm in the best shape of my life, but working the most I ever have from home. Its so easy to get in to bad habits. On my commute home I got past 5 drive throughs and god knows how many take aways. Its not really a shock that tired & stressed people think I can't be arsed to cook a healthy meal, I'll just stop off on the way home.
Uber eats is the worst, I remember at Uni one of my friends ubered mcdonalds breakfast. He lived opposite LOL.I think a tax on drive through and delivery at least should come in. I remember going to the states twenty years ago and seeing drive through banks and laughing at how lazy they are, the only reason we don’t have them now is because banks aren’t a thing as much. Apart from anything else the air pollution from some of the Maccys drive through queues I see must be horrendous.
