We weren't that good today were we? (6 Viewers)

I was a bit disappointed today really. Thought the first ten minutes was very good then the last five we could of nicked it! On the positive side thought Jordan Clarke was excellent again and Sammy put in a captains performance. Scunthorpe seemed to change their shape and we struggled a bit didn't have much of a plan b I thought. I really hope they give thorny the job tho because he really seems to have the players on his side! I can't help thinking that Sisu will disappoint us and give it to some so called name! First post.... Please go easy on me!:)

I have a bad feeling that the "Big Name" is David O'Leary. I mean, there is no factual basis that it will be, but it would be typically CCFC. :blue:

It wouldn't be right after what thorns done for the players and the general morale of the club. I don't know who it will be but I just don't think it will be thorny!

I agree, Anyone could have nicked it in the end a draw seem's a fair result and has ensured are championship status for another season.

prob the worst weve played under thorn today, worst thing we did was score so early the players looked like they thought it was gonna be a stroll in the park after that and david bell pretty much said the same on the interview after.

fair play to scunny tho, they were battling for thier lives and gave it a right good go, id be proud if my team battled for their lives like that, especailly with that charlton debacle still fresh in the mind from 3 years ago where most of our side ddint seem to give a fuck!

we still calved out some great chances mind considering we didnt play very well, freddy should have scored and marlon could and maybe should have had a hattrick today, cant help but think had that effort from lukas gone in instead of just wide after about 15 mins then we would have stuffed them today, they seemed to come in to the game from then on and were the better side till the last 10 minutes when we got our passing back together again.

not great but then again i think we would have lost today if we still had aidy in charge, and i think millwall would have beaten us aswell.

Thank you la la la... wave back!! Couldn't agree more brinner. We showed alot more steel today and perhaps would of lost under hoofroyd. Could of nicked it aswell. I agree with thorn when he said that Was our hardest remaining game.

We were a bit flat after scoring so early and didn't play with the tempo we have in recent weeks.

Having said that, we still created chances and King, Eastwood and Jutkiewicz all missed from 6 yards when it was probably easier to score.

I didn't think we were that great. For periods of the game we resorted to long ball and then seemed to confuse ourselves. Clingon had a great game, making him captain was a fantastic decision. Keogh yet again was a little gem and King literally ran his socks off, couldn't walk properly after the whistle went. Some players seemed to think the holidays have started and put in a below average performance.

It was a silly deflected goal to give away but we could have taken our chances a wee bit better. Scunny were not push overs but we should have beaten them yesterday.

I was disappointed with Eastwood yesterday.
He just didn't seem to get into the game at all.

Shame Jukebox was taken off - he was doing alright

Eastwood didn't look that fussed at all and he cannot read King at all like Jukebox.

Eastwood was always 100 miles away from King so he had no support at all.

I thought Baker was poor too but would have liked to see Deegan given a run instead of McIndoe.

Some player's had good performances while other's just looked disinterested.

And Nick I think Thorn doesn't want to risk Deegan just yet it was a horrific injury. I don't want him to play in an unimportant game when he isn't ready just to get injured again.

Agreed that we were a bit poor; Knill did his homework and they looked to exploit our narrowness & use Nunez on the counter, whilst closing down our build-up play. Whilst that worked, we still should have buried them with the chances we had. Freddys' sitter was an apalling miss, he kinda did an airshot then stood on the ball! Summed up his performance-not a solitary positive contribution in his time on the pitch. Am I right in saying he's never scored as a sub for us? I used to be a big supporter of his, but after that showing don't want to see him pull on a City shirt ever again. So very lazy. "My Big Fat Gypsy Footballer", anyone? Maybe we can get a tv deal with ITV3 or someone..

Whilst King was generally great and took his goal superbly, the 2 sitters he missed were much easier chances than his goal. It was almost like he had too much time. Very uncharacteristic, but if he'd put one of them away we'd have all felt so much better.

Thought Clarke had another very good game, Bell was even more effective in the hole than LCM, McIndoe showed appetite, Baker needed too much time & didn't help Hussey, Clingan getting more effective each match, Keogh quality at CB.

A word of caution: I love the passing style, and it's clearly something we're still learning. But lads, lets try and play it in their half rather than just outside our penalty box! I was having kittens. We'll concede stupidly sooner or later playing like that. One Cranie pass over an encraoching forward in particular brought back memories of Paul Williams against Notts F!!!

...as i said the other day the final few games will show us what Thorn can do for us. We had not played any top six sides since he took over and as our season is very much over it's the precise time to see how his motivational skills and his plan B works.

The Boro' won well today away from home, we have them Monday and Norwich and Reading to follow. They won't get any tougher in this league for Thorn.
Now is the time to come through.

We seemed to lack a plan B against Sunny. Could easily have lost it. The defensive side of things is perilously shaky and yet we have Wood and Cameron on the bench. Clarke looks great but the fact is we were better with Keogh out there...goals have come from his crosses. He is poor in the middle. Cranie would have been better with Wood or Cameron. That's what he needed to do.

His substitute McIndoe was poor and Baker was again ineffective in that role. Deegan should have had at least 20 minutes.

The honeymoon is over. The next 3 will show what we have under Thorns stewardship.

I can see it now...if he loses the next 3 you will all be calling for someone else so patience my friends, watch, wait and see.....

I'd be very suprised if we got anything from the last three games. I know we are popping it about alot better but we still lack a cutting edge and in my opinion look a touch shaky at the back.
