Where have I said that?

Are they all home fans then at games?

What are you actually on about? Another one straight from the marketing book of nonsense.

Who has mentioned a protest in this thread? You are being far too obvious by jumping into a thread where there is no mention of it.

Think you and the one person who had an issue with somebody wearing wasps clothes are child like. There's hardly any wasps clothing around Coventry on Mon match days also for the record.

Surprising all these lifelong city fans who sign up to defend people talking about wasps.

Nick - you rightly queried the idea about 20K Home fans, I've clarified that.

I think my points are pretty clear? Concentrate on each one and you'll get it.

My post is not specifically about points in this thread, there are posts in this forum that advocate a protest at Wasps. I chose the most relevant CCFC/Wasps Post in which to express an opinion. I'm glad you think that a protest wouldn't work, you see, we have more to agree on than we think.

I'm also glad we agree that the dislike (hatred) of people wearing Wasps clothing on City games is misjudged.

Yeh, you can question my love of City, because that's easy, I don't wish to debate that, because I know, and you guess.

Read the threads you refer to. I said it was stupid judging based on a hat they were wearing.

You have rocked up just to purely defend wasps, the 20k average wasps fans is nonsense though.

Strangely the other lifelong city fans who login to support wasps do the same.

A decent protest against wasps would work, the fact you and others login especially show there is something in it..... Like I said on those threads though, no point ruining things for genuine wasps fans or pissing them off.

Same happened when the higgs stuff happened and there was a hint of pressure against wasps.

I do think it rather stupid anyone wearing Wasps clothing to a city match in the same way as anyone would wear a Villa shirt at the Ricoh in the home section.

You know what, I think it's misjudged/genuine mistake (to wear Wasps at a City game), but neither should we dedicate a post to it suggesting all sorts of nonsense, however jovial. My Dad taught me to cover my scarf up when I left the ground in the 80s... I'd like to think we've progressed, maybe we haven't.

You've read my last reply right? I clarified at 17K...

"rocked up" ? Long time listener/first time contributor! Apologies if you have to earn your points before you can express a view. Let me know when I've earned enough loyalty points to have a view.

Lets disagree on the idea of a Wasps protest "working" - not sure what working means. Pleased to see you're not in the business of "ruining things for genuine Wasps fans, or pissing them off" - though I suspect you may like be the judge of who is genuine?

I've said a protest against wasps would have something in it, hence people wouldn't be signing up on here every time there is a whiff.

I've also said not something that would annoy the genuine fans (not those there for the bandwagon). Same as I'd be against abusing somebody just for wearing a wasps hat.

It's fairly predictable though, you aren't the first and won't be the last.

Your point was about home fans. We had a bigger than average crowd against Accrington last year, what's your point?

Another smug bell end because they support wasps but no interest in ccfc. Do you want a medal or was the free flag enough?

The worst type. Somehow think they are superior now they have a rugby team. Exactly the sort I'd love to piss off....

Points, plural.

Not exactly sure what we're debating now. Over 17K average crowd at the Ricoh for Wasps in 2018, fact, my view was that a protest was silly, and does nothing to advance CCFCs cause, which I think, you agree with?

No, your point was there was over 20k wasps fans on average. That points to just home fans.

Oh no, a protest that wouldnt upset actual fans is a great idea. You wouldn't be here if wasps wouldn't give a shit about it. The same as the "long term ccfc fans" who appeared last time but strangely never had any interest in ccfc games.

I didn't say you were, I meant the ones from Coventry who seem to take pleasure that they now support wasps and try to be superior are the ones who I'd be happy to piss off. Not the actual life long wasps fans, strangely enough they are the ones who seem normal.

The average is 14,500 this season. - lower if you include the rugby cup games

Also wasps seem very coy on revealing how many season tickets have been sold

Not sure if that is me or not. Lifelong City fan, Wasps fan since 2015. I would hate to come across as acting superior, I was stating what I think is a reasonable position re. Wasps and the City.

You were very much coming on here for a specific reason and trying to be smug because you support wasps.

I know your reasons because it has happened so many times.

I have discussed your points, I'm also asking about the average of 20k average wasps fans at the ricoh....

Yep, you have tried to be smug.

Same as the others who have tried it, makes the genuine lifelong wasps fans look like dicks because you have a new bandwagon to be on.

It's going be a long night.

17.5 K 2017/18 (wikipedia)

Assuming Grendel is right (and why would we doubt that) then it's down to 14.5K so far this season, tomorrow will help, and from then on.. who knows.

I'm guessing the rest of my points stand? I'll accept that.

That isn't just wasps fans like you said originally is it?

What you don't realise is how many apparent life long city fans have signed up giving it the same shite and are nowhere to be seen after they have tried to do what they need to do.

No of course they don’t stand. You’ve selectively used last seasons attendances and not this. That’s an 18% drop in one season. One game over the season will at best add a thousand onto the average so it’s a nonsense argument and just proves ab annual decline of significant proportion

This seasons attendance for wasps fans (taking away support) is around 12,000 - given the so called super brand whichever way you cut it it’s poor and if the same trend continues crowds will be below 10,000 I’m two seasons

The share deal is uncertain and may require a surrender of a percentage of turnover - which if it includes all wasps activities would be significant

Of course there should be protests if the club is kicked out. It would be a disposable act and would inevitably have consequences

Let's have a pissing contest on "who is the biggest City fan" - actually, let's not, because it's not the point of all this. So let's agree that you're the biggest City fan between the two of us, now where does that leave us? Back to the original point (of a number I made):

"My genuine, naive advice is embrace Wasps, let them know the CCFC fanbase would like them as partners, convince them to work against SISU, not organise a 100 strong protest at a Wasps game where you will be drowned out by a 20K (average) Wasps home crowd, come on, this isn't primary school."

Shall I change that to - 14.5k - or 10K ? And your point is what? That annoying the Wasps fans will progress the city cause? That Wasps will think "ahh fair enough lads, back to London for us". That point was not aimed at you specifically, but maybe at the handful of people who think it's a good idea.

Now, shall we continue to debate the average attendance at Wasps games? 'tis Saturday night after all.

I think we can all see the end game now. Sisu will hold onto CCFC whilst Wasps' future at the Ricoh is uncertain. Without significant improvement, it seems Wasps may well end up selling the Ricoh back to Sisu/CCFC and then heading off back down the M40 to groundshare with MK Dons, which is much more within their catchment area. I doubt the recent news from the new Premiership investors will be of huge long term benefit, as any extra cash it generates will presumably find its way into the players's pockets. If anything, the Ricoh is a millstone around their neck as the non-sport aspect (hotel, casino, conference centre etc) seems to leak money rather than add value. I have no idea if this can be revived but no progress appears to have been made.

Right lads, I was enjoying the debate, but we got bit bogged down in numbers, name calling and the questing of my support of the City, that doesn't take us forward. Anyway, big day tomorrow so I'll leave it here. My points were genuinely aimed at contrasting the idea that the City as a whole hates Wasps, and that City fan's hate Wasps, I'm not sure that's true, Happy Christmas, PUSB.
