The average cost of an Indian wedding might be 50k. How much of that do you think the venue picks up?
Just to be clear I didn't say football generally is on the wane ..... didn't the EFL recently release a report a report saying quite the reverse...... The comment was on the specific current circumstances of Ccfc. Where despite moderate success, we are still in the mix crowds have declined if anything. Rugby in the city of Coventry has seen a resurgence of interest. If that continues then it will affect Ccfc in many areas including attendances, finances, recruitment etc that to me is a long term concern
I have ideas, couldn't do it all on my own. I have always been of the thinking, protests should be aimed at all parties. People don't like that, they just want to go after sisu. That is the difficulty, wasps have been accepted as they're not sisu. CCFC fans would need persuading that wasps are bad says it all.

Interesting, because the coverage I've seen suggests that Cipriani choosing not to commit to Wasps is a bit of a story in rugby circles.
The salary cap thing just shows to me that (like the Bonds) Wasps aren't entirely capable of keeping their administration straight. Not entirely reassuring for investors when that happens, imho.
Now I think about it, it's almost as though someone's trying to spin away any negatives about the franchise here. Surely not

I wouldn't want you doing my accounts. A 40k audit error leading to a 20k penalty would be considered very poor practice by any business that I know or have worked in, especially when it's combined with the bond 'oversight'.
Put it this way, I work in a business that turns over an awful lot more than Wasps and we reconcile to the penny every month-end reporting period. It sounds hard, but it isn't too difficult if you've got the proper governance and structures in place. As a result it's unlikely that we'd suddenly find ourselves £40k out on audit. Sorry if it hurts that your paymasters are a bit incompetent, but a business that relies on cash handouts from an owner and bond financing to keep it's head above water isn't really going to welcome a fine of £20,000. Maybe you're not quite as in the know as you think...
And who knows what Cipriani wants, but clearly one of Wasps better players isn't sticking around. Perhaps he preferred it when they were in London.

I know the majority of folk here aren't interested in more details, but there are a couple of things that are relevant to these issues.
Cipriani is leaving which is a damn shame, but he is being replaced by Lima Sopoaga who is rated as one of the best 10s in the world and to date has been a regular for the All Blacks. So whilst it is likely to have an impact on team cohesion, it isn't likely to be a reflection of anything negative regading finances.
The salary cap thing was very disappointing, but not as big a deal as it has been painted. There is an allowance in the Salary Cap which the club gets when a player is away on England duty. If said player is injured and therefore unable to be part of the England camp that allowance is not given. With Hughes, Haskell and Daly all having been injured for some time that would account for the discrepancy. This wouldn't be an issue, apart from the fact that you have to agree what people will be getting paid at the begining of the year, and you find out what the size of the allowance you get from the RFU is as it happens. If it shows anything, it is how close Wasps are skirting to the limit of the cap.

Don't agree with the assessment of Lima Sopaogo, he isn't as highly rated as made out, and is coming here for a quick buck, as he is currently back up to Beauden Barrett for the All Blacks. If he was such a star player for the All Blacks, why is he leaving to come here?
