ECB.co.uk - County Championship, LIVE!

Here’s the link to the highlights as requested yesterday.

Good to see Brookes living up to the ore season billing as a potential ‘Woakes’ replacement!

132-6 bell out to a poor shot

Boyd rankin has just made his second debut in test cricket and this time has managed a wicket

Rankin was a frustrating player (injuries aside) always so close to really exploding into a really top class fast bowler.

Also about time Woakes came home. Sitting on his backside doing nothing leading into a Test series isn't helping anyone (except Pakistan). Hasn't played for nearly a month - probably rules him out of Pakistan tests.

Plays that late cut so well usually.

7 down now, to have Northants 52-6 and end up being 50+ runs behind is disappointing

It’s helping Woakes bank balance but I hadn’t realised he wasn’t getting a game as I can’t watch the ipl as I hate it

nope don't watch myself either.
Read an article last week he hadn't had a game for ages (also that he's getting around 800k for being there!!)

Woakes played about 4 at the start wasn’t doing much going for 10 an over and was dropped for Plunkett

They could really do with more than one camera on the live stream.

Better than nothing though, I guess it saves having an editing team etc.

Bears lead Brookes and Ambrose 50 each, Brookes looks a good prospect at 18

Lead of 9

Looks a bit in the pitch

Don’t want to be chasing much over 210ish

Hopefully rip through them again!

179 to win, Bears game to throw away you feel.

Just see it through to lunch 1 down at worst!

125 to win, 7 wickets? Should do it but they tend to have the Coventry city’s about them and throw it away!

Bears win again

6 wicket win and a first career hundred for Will Rhodes who batted very well

A bit worried out Sibleys form and I would love to see them find a real opener for next season as we haven’t had one since Varun

Just don't see Sibley as an opener. He's a middle order hitter.
Seems crazy going into a season without specialist openers even if Rhodes is going well for now.

Sibley smashed a club record (just under 300) for the 2nds at the start of the week so it’s disappointing he didn’t carry the form in.

Great knock by Rhodes hopefully kick start his Bears career.

Maybe Div 2 isn’t a bad place to be bringing these youngsters in!

Feel for Hose not getting in he looks a decent proposition but in fairness Lamb has taken his chance at 6.

There does seem to be a real shortage of quality openers about as England have the same issue

Chasing 358
130-3 off 21
Hain 73* so far
Derbyshires game at the minute needs one of again or Hose to bat deep and just keep wickets in hand and hang in there!

Well this games done
10 an over for the last 15
4 wickets left
Hain still there on 107 but little support.
Not a great start with some tough trips to Yorks, Lancs & Notts to come!
