Viveash side of the story (3 Viewers)

Also, he said he got stick because of tackling that fan. Said he had his hand under him and was gentle.

Which nonce was giving him stick for that? Should have winded up with a proper power slam.
I think it more reinforced the stereotype that he was a bit of a nutter and hard man. I don't think he liked that stereotype, especially as it was being used against him with rumors that the new players didn't get on with him or they didn't like his dinosaur way of coaching.

Who was it that said players weren't responding to his methods? Some did im sure

I'm sure saddle said it several times that the new players didn't like his coaching methods and didn't really get along Viveash, sound to me Adi disagrees with that and he thinks his hard man stereotype fed those rumours

Main thing i took from it was his role at the club was talked about , that he knew his role and the manager had the final say on everything .

I liked how he talked about how he pushed robins to keep improving as a manager .

They were a good team , its a shame it went the way it did

It might be true that some weren't.
I doubt any club has a squad who are 100% receptive to the manager/coaching staff.

I'd imagine those not getting picked would have a few gripes in any set up.

Tbh as much as its nice to feel vindicated for not being in the majority jumping all over King when things were going tits up, it's good for forum point scoring... even I'm a bit bored of it. Good luck to him and Robins, they were great and they served us well. The club has moved on but I wish them all the best.

Good luck with the simms stuff , many of ours think hes Batistuta 👍

Maybe if he had his hair done the same as Batistuta and came back next season it might work? It's like when Lati had his hair in an afro he was always going to have a shocker.

Wright got his hair done and played well.

That’s what gave Robins the hump according to Doug or gave Doug the hump. I can’t recall. Humps were definitely involved.
I don’t doubt that for some reason Robins didn’t like the content of the article but I suspect it was the final straw to an already strained relationship. It was a pretty uncontroversial article after all.

Crazy how people can’t put personal shit behind them for joint success isn’t it?

Embarrassing day for all those drama queens who insisted it was a sinister plot to undermine Robins. Also embarrassing for the Cov Tele who couldn’t get an interview with Ade that a fledgling podcast secured.

I just wished Simon had thought of some more interesting questions. Feels like an opportunity missed.
Don't come on here much but will reply to this with some further details.

I contacted Adi to set up this interview back in November so it took about six months to get to this stage. I sent him a full list of questions around a month before the interview which included all of the ones you would expect about leaving the club.

He didn't want to talk about any of that entire section and they weren't on the final list at all, so when he did open up a bit about it, the effect on his family and how the press conference made him feel I was pleased. I pushed things as far as I could with the final question on that topic before the ad break which he didn't want to talk about, as is his right. He's super professional as you would expect.

I'm really happy with the way it all came out, and I think there's some lovely stories across part one and part two regarding the play offs, promotions and working with certain players. I certainly didn't want this to create a ton of drama, but I feel he has spoken in a professional way to address things which allows both he and the club to move forward.

He was a brilliant guy to chat with, and was happy to chat for nearly three hours, when we had only scheduled in for one. I wish him all the best and hope he gets back into football soon, as he clearly loves it.

Thanks to those that have listened and commented, I loved doing the interview and think it's great to hear some of his stories through the years.

Thanks,
Simon

Looking forward to part 2. He came across as very professional in the way he dealt with his departure. Obviously loves the game and appeared to enjoy talking about his time with us.

Really enjoyed him talking about the 2 promotion seasons.
Looking forward to hearing about the return to the championship.

Nah, yesterdays man. Thanks for the memories and all that,
but im more interested in seeing our "retained list."
I've always thought Adi was a massive part of our success, and Robins was clearly not great without him.
It is ingenuous to call him yesterdays man. It depends if he wants to work again. He has been successful in all his football endeavours.
I would have him back at the club in any capacity.

I wondered if there could be a role in our academy structure which has failed to produce a pipeline of talent …. He may feel he’s bigger than that now but you never know …

He (and MR) were great for us, they've learnt their place in the clubs history, we're all aware of how far they took us.

But they've gone and we've moved on, I'm sure he'll do an interesting interview, but as I said, it's a new era now.

Well done, Simon. I agree—based on what he said about feeling relieved when DK spoke up at the forum, it was pretty clear what his perspective was on the whole situation. I think listeners could read between the lines

Didn’t Dr Clare also get blamed for Adi’s sacking? Completely retrospective but the club did more damage to the situation by not telling fans that he left based on managers decision and gave him a proper thank you. Shit thing to deal with but caused a proper witch hunt with how it was handled.

Yes, another batshit claim on here that quickly turned into a FACT.
