Didn’t Vik / Sporting try and play a similar game when he left us? Albeit a less high-profile case.

Either way, it’s not sure it’s doing his reputation any favours…

He's made arsenal one of the best teams in Europe silverware or no silverware

I mean ten haag is a good comparison. He did sin silverware. But did he make man utd a top 5 team in europe? No. Got to look at the bigger picture.
Ten Hag didn’t get the money or time Arteta has. Arteta is similar to Southgate. Hes not quite the man. He’s put them in a position to win but just hasn’t got it in him to get over the line.

Someone like Simeone or Mourinho would have won more.

Ten Hag the man who spent 85 million on Anthony and 40 million on Onana. Moanio hasn't been a decent manager for 8 years plus.

How so? Not pretending to be perfect but my track record is pretty damn good id say

Only few years ago I stood up for Enzo maresca from people on here saying how shit he is and since then he won the championship, the conference league , top 4 and is in club world cup final

But hey he has a foreign name so it's easy...

P.s I love Jose and didn't make the comment about him

Was going to say this. Hadn't Vik and his agent decided he was going there and that was that. No chance for us to put him to the market and maximise the return.

If you're happy to sign players that way you've really got to accept them leaving the same way.

He is under contract, that’s the be all and end all of the transfer system.

It was our clubs choice to accept the amount Sporting wanted to pay at the time and it’s Sporting’s choice to accept whatever price they see as acceptable now.

He is under contract, that’s the be all and end all of the transfer system.

That is is the only comparable point aligned to what you say here.

One of the main differences with this transfer in comparison to Vik leaving us is that he only had one year left on his contract here.
Even if he doesn’t leave Sporting in this transfer window he’ll still be worth some transfer fee in the future. …. Albeit much reduced!
Surely, with only 6m euro reported differences in the valuation the two clubs can get a deal done. It does seem like they don’t like each other!

The transfer will 100% happen. Sporting just won’t budge, as they shouldn’t and Arsenal will pay it eventually.

Many reasons for this, but a big one being Sporting’s “Dortmund” model. They can’t be seen as a soft touch to continue to buy talent and sell on for huge profits.

This is part of the irony of this situation.
The agent is playing the political game with Sporting to get this deal done but as is being reported everywhere, it’s the agent fee that is holding up the deal along with the add on’s Sporting want.
Henry is generally right so
That’s a good thing !

Done a decent job but he’s a greedy manipulative fucker.

That's BS. He's clearly a v good manager.

You think he planned to have a striker crisis? What ITK do you have to be sure he told arsenal don't buy me a striker?

The if he was English nonsense works both ways. Foreigners get extra scrutiny from average British fan I would say
Well he's failed to buy a striker in a number of years while selling the ones he did have, so I guess you could say he did plan for it.

He had gab jesus who got injured. MYbe the right striker wasn't available so he didn't just sanction the signing of any old striker?

Also with plan B and C upfront he make semi final of UCL and last team to beat psg possibly or close to it. He's clearly a good manager and just dumb to pretend otherwise

If he isn't prepared to buy " any old striker" why buy any old midfielder such as Jorghino ? Not denying that he's a good manager but he's won one trophy since he's been there and despite plenty of opportunities he hasn't chosen to spend on a quality striker instead spending on back up mids and defenders. This failure to address buying for the position Arsenal need more than any other is massive oversight.

It’s amazing how quickly the Sporting fans have turned on him. He could have left an icon but instead completely destroyed his legacy with what’s going on.
