I honestly don’t believe that the players personal monetary agreement would have any bearing on fee negotiations between the buying & selling clubs, it’s just more BS being splurged by parties that have no more than a tentative involvement in any potential agreement.
Well of course Arsenal (any buying club) will be looking at every financial aspect of the proposed transfer & obviously looking to make any possible savings they can, but negotiations with Gyokeres & his agents concerning personal terms & negotiations with Sporting concerning fee & conditions would be completely separate. Not sure I'd agree with that. Transfer fee won't be the only consideration from the Arsenal camp they'll be looking at the financial package as a whole.
I'm not saying it's true, however if Gyokeres did willingly sacrifice 2m euros of his wages pa then that would've been appealing IMO.
Don't forget transfer fees can be amortised, wages are treated as an expense in the period they are earned and paid.
And that's why it sounds like bullshit. Who is giving up £8.5 million? It's not just €2m. It's €2m per year for the duration of his contract. He'll be signing a 5 year deal most likely so that's around £8.5m in total.
What wage are they offering him? It's silly money in the Prem. If they're offering 100k a week it's £26m over a 5 year contract. Yes the £8.5m is a lot but it would still leave him with a few quid and give him a chance of winning major trophies. Do they also get bonuses for winning things? And that's why it sounds like bullshit. Who is giving up £8.5 million?

Do I think Arsenal would enter negotiations with Gyokeres and say: We really want you here but Sporting just want to much money & Gyokeres says: ok I’ll accept £2m p/y less than you have already offered me to sweeten the deal for youno chance.

As being married to one...I can confirm this...especially when Ive fooked up on something. .but in general...most Scousers just love the sound of their own voices.Scousers love saying lad don't they, lad
Yep so £5mSo if it's 70m + 10m Euros, our 10% only comes from the profit of the 70m, right? The 10m is extras further down the line?
Honestly surprised though he's not gone to Juve or somewhere else in Europe.
Want him to succeed in the prem but think he may struggle a bit in an arsenal side which do struggle with strikers over recent years.
He’ll be great for arsenalI think this is why he’ll be a success.
Arsenal haven’t had a consistently decent striker for years. He only has to be half decent and he’ll be loved by fans. He’s already half way there, as he’s actually a proper striker and one who can lead the line.
He’s also pretty unique in his style and I think he’ll stand out massively.

Deduct 500k for Brighton?Yep so £5m
Even if true it will cost him less than 1M per year when you take off the tax & NIIt's not just €2m. It's €2m per year for the duration of his contract. He'll be signing a 5 year deal most likely so that's around £8.5m in total.
Yes of course Arsenal would look at the financial impact of the transfer in its entirety, fee, add-on, wages etc.Negotiations between Sporting / Arsenal and Gyokeres / Arsenal are indeed separate, but as mentioned the financial package from Arsenal's perspective will still be assessed as a whole - so transfer fee and add-ons + cost of wages over the course of his contract.
They’re going to love him and he’ll score 20 goals no worriesI think this is why he’ll be a success.

For us, the higher the figure the better but for the deal to happen then the higher the figure thr more messy it becomes to get settled; Arsenal will quite rightly have a walk away point and if the Lisbon President keeps up this stance then Arsenal might simply run out of patience .Yep so £5m
Where to though? Sesko was the first choice but they have already moved on from him due to the 100m fee and Isak will cost even more, so what other top class striker would be available? For us, the higher the figure the better but for the deal to happen then the higher the figure thr more messy it becomes to get settled; Arsenal will quite rightly have a walk away point and if the Lisbon President keeps up this stance then Arsenal might simply run out of patience .
I don’t think he’s a perfect fit at Arsenal. Was at his best when he could pick up the ball on the half way line and isolate defenders, he wont get that at Arsenal. That being said I think he’s a good enough player to be a success there.

But if Gyokeres has agreed to give up £2m p/y over the term of his contract, then that would suggest that personal terms have already been agreed, how else could he agree to forfeit part of his wages without knowing the exact amount he would be earning, why would Arsenal offer him terms without knowing the fee & whether or not they can afford those terms in the first place.
I would have thought the first thing to be agreed would be the fee between the buying & selling clubs, then the negotiations between the buying club & the players representatives would beginwith the buying club now in a position to know what they can offer the player in personal terms.
If they get Madueke in as well they have got to be in with a shout for the most complete squad in the league - no excuses for Arteta next seasonIf Arsenal sign Vik, and Eze then i can see them linking up really well together. Eze loves to play the quick ball through, Mateta has been a beneficiary of this at Palace, and whilst i like Mateta, Vik is a step up from him.
Can also envision a lot of Odegaard and Saka link ups, with Saka then crossing into Vik for a tap in at the back post (similar to how Sterling scored a lot of goals for Man City)
True, either way I think he’ll be a success. In the games against city and arsenal in the champions league he caused a world of problems.Playing for Cov he was at his best there because that's what we *needed* him to do, in the absence of the type of other creative players that Arsenal have got (and to be fair, we create more chances ourselves now)
I think Madueke would be a poor signing. rodrygo would suit them moreIf they get Madueke in as well they have got to be in with a shout for the most complete squad in the league - no excuses for Arteta next season

Hes going straight in my Fantasy team that's for sureThey’re going to love him and he’ll score 20 goals no worries
