I honestly don’t believe that the players personal monetary agreement would have any bearing on fee negotiations between the buying & selling clubs, it’s just more BS being splurged by parties that have no more than a tentative involvement in any potential agreement.

Not sure I'd agree with that. Transfer fee won't be the only consideration from the Arsenal camp they'll be looking at the financial package as a whole.

I'm not saying it's true, however if Gyokeres did willingly sacrifice 2m euros of his wages pa then that would've been appealing IMO.

Don't forget transfer fees can be amortised, wages are treated as an expense in the period they are earned and paid.

Well of course Arsenal (any buying club) will be looking at every financial aspect of the proposed transfer & obviously looking to make any possible savings they can, but negotiations with Gyokeres & his agents concerning personal terms & negotiations with Sporting concerning fee & conditions would be completely separate.

Do I think Arsenal would enter negotiations with Gyokeres and say: We really want you here but Sporting just want to much money & Gyokeres says: ok I’ll accept £2m p/y less than you have already offered me to sweeten the deal for you 🤔 no chance.
