Van Ewick Injury (2 Viewers)

JDS can also play on the right and has done in the past for Bristol. Robins might being Bidwell in at LWB and JDS to RWB. Not ideal.

Other option is Eccles or Lati. Lati played that position last season for Swansea I believe.

Then the debate is Saka in that position.

This sounds like the best option surely? We have 2 solid wing-backs, I know it's not ideal but surely one of them can play on the right - can't be that different in terms of positioning. The biggest positive being that Bidwell appears to be able to play 100% of the time and is very resilient, so hopefully can play through the time required till MVE comes back.

Can you blame us?

most important window in the clubs recent history? Fucked it up with some signings

wright looks shite

sakamoto doesn’t fit anyway in our team

have one right back now we have none

don’t replace Gus even with another loan

sent out a competent back up in Burroughs, I think you can’t recall till January

kudos king and robins

It doesn't look like an ideal situation but there's no point going to a dark place about it. Had some terrible luck with injuries now, and players still need time. At least give it a few more games where it could be a different picture.

Fair comment @napolimp

but we always have terribly bad luck to the point where I don’t even think it’s bad luck

I didn't think Ayari came to us as a number 10 and that his natural position is more the Hamer role. This is the opportunity to play him in his best position by moving Eccles to rwb.

Would like to see Ayari next to Eccles, with the 2 remaining wing backs used as AFCCOVENTRY said. Also Allen in for Palmer if he's fit enough, give Palmer some reflection time and maybe bring him on later.

What is up with you? Tell me who our next 3 injuries are going to be and how you were going to plan for them. I look forward to your reply.

Well for a start we should have another specialist right back to cover MVE

and we should have a signed another midfielder to cover sheaf and Gus

we did neither, and it’s fucked us over

if I can see it how mark robins couldn’t astounds me

TBF, I've got a feeling that he genuinely didn't think Hamer would leave - although I do agree they should have had a list of replacements lined up anyway, just in case - and I also think that he thought Sakamoto would be able to effectively cover the RWB position. He seemed to be surprised by his poor defending in the post match interview after Cardiff.

I really wish we didn't spend so much on centre halves and strikers.

We have no cover at RWB as well as CM.
Tbf i think Eccles would be a fine replacement if he hadn't been elevated to first choice midfield player

What you have done is with hindsight. What I asked (without hindsight) is where our next injuries (positionally)are going to be and what you would have done to cover them. What you seem to have done is said what we should have done for covering existing injuries, which we will cover for - Eccles, Sakamoto, Ayari, Eccles.

We can all manage 'after the event' but what MR is paid to do is deal with the present, and given his record over the last few seasons, I'll leave it in his safe hands. Unless you want to ditch him for a Nathan Jones, Russell Slade, etc.

Sigh, another example of our inept department faiking to take action during a match of a player injured and letting them carry on. MR said MVE was feeling this in thr first half but wanted to carry on. That is shambolic.

Remember when Palmer clearly pulled his hamstring and told them he'd carry on, he then ended his season. Sky commentators was completely baffled we let him carry on.

Dabo also did it at Derby in the fa Cup.

When will they learn!!!

I'm just saying we heard all this shite last year, how we were basically relegated already, and look what happened.
I just don't see us having the players to turn it around this year, last year we had Hamer and Gyokeres for the shit start who turned it around for us. This year we have Kelly and Godden.

Don't think we will go down but not expecting a turn around like last season.

Also happened to Godden as well a couple of seasons ago. It’s pure negligence.

it did, he blocked a cross and basically damaged his ankle ligaments and carried on the whole game from memory. The MR comes out bemoaning our bad luck cuz he was out for 3 months.

Think we're going to need a change in formation. Play 4 at the back and leave Eccles in midfield.

We all know Robins won't though.

Sooner Eccles at RWB than Sakamoto any day if the week, and it gives us an option to play another AM.

Everyone was sucking Doug off all summer

Shit window and we're going to be bottom 6 for a while now
We play with 3 CBs and going into the window we had 1 who is 35/36 - that was clearly the biggest priority.

We just have to accept that this process is going to be a 3-5 year thing. We were never going to replace the star quality of Hamer and Gyokeres this window. Overall, our squad is in a stronger position in the longer term.

January and next summer we’ll have clearer and more focused recruitment strategy. This is because this window we had to sign a lot of players across the entire pitch.

We’ve got players coming back from injury and we’ll slowly get better.

The cheque book was opened so ultimately, the failures are on Robins.

I'd change shape after this. 4 at the back extram an in the middle in Ayari AND Palmer in front of Eccles and Allen (although he'll play Kelly). Back 4 of JDS, Kitchens, Thomas, Lati. Simms and Godden up front.

Agree with all of that, but the last paragraph suggests failures, of which none have yet happened.
