Hoping I wasn't just biased as they were nice kids! They had great attitude and ability in younger age groups so fingers crossed

I hope so. We have heard similar before and they've come to nothing.

Interesting to know at what stage a lot of the kids coming through were brought in - would we have still been L1 or were a lot of them picked up when we were Championship and so had a bit more pull?

Be interesting to see the list of new scholars and whether it has changed since I was there - the lads I'm talking about joined the club very early so defo saw L1 days and maybe even L2!

Have we shifted away from that a little recently, picking up bargains from lower down or did we have a dearth that needed supplementing

Only 2 of the new scholars are Cov born and come through the academy ranks from an early age, the rest have been signed in from other clubs.

So I guess that means Lines, Blakely, Marshall, Osague and Panatayio were released.

Does anyone know if Joshua Taluwaloju was brought in as an U21 signing or into the academy and been released as well?

He was only signed in the middle of last season. Would be surprised if he was released already.

What are their ages? As I understand it, the U18s is made up of 2 intakes. Those who left school last summer and are at the end of their 1st year. And those who've completed 2 years as a scholar and are progressing to the U21s or are being released.

When the retained list was announced I don't think the U18s got a mention so I assume that these lads were the 2nd year scholars.

And the Taluwaloju lad wasn't mentioned at all.

What we thinking then wkth Callum Perry. I just assumed he'd be one of those that's always around the u21s ans then eventually released but seems he's making a push!

Loan for the season at league 2 or league 1?

Small for a centre half. From an untrained eye, possibly the best chance of making it might mean pushing out to left back. Seems like he's excellent on the ball.

He didnt look small yesterday Vs Monaco but I guess the camera angle wasn't great so maybe its hard to gauge, but to me he actually looked quite tall.

He's listed as being 186cm, which I think is 6'2".

Is he really? Wow. I've seen him a few times in the U21s and he's looked small for a CB. Didn't look any different yesterday.

I stand corrected.

Jamie Allen was once listed as 5'10''.

I know players that age can have growth spurts but the couple of times I've seen him he's looked quite small for a CB. I'd have said he was about 5'9''

U21's at Leam tomorrow night. Might pop along to support them, but not sure if I'll know any of the side. £12 entrance a bit steep for the level, but guess they have to maximise.

Think of the fee as a charitable contribution to support local non league football.

If anyone is thinking of going they've put a ton of information on their website:

Match Arrangements: Coventry City XI

It's Friday Night Football at Your Co-op Community Stadium this week, as Leamington take on Coventry City XI.

This game will NOT be segregated.

Please note, this game kicks off at 7pm.

Jack Edwards - It's goodbye for now!
Leamington legend, modern day record appearance holder, Jack Edwards will lead Leamington out and captain the side for this game against his childhood club.
Friday will be a great opportunity for Jack and his family to see the supporters again before he starts his new adventure in Warwick. Friday gives Brakes fans the chance to celebrate Jack's time at the club!
Jack - it's a goodbye for now.

Raffle & CALM Charity Update
There will be a raffle at Friday night's game at Jack's request, raising money for CALM - the Campaign Against Living Miserably - the charity that we are raising money for as we get ready for the 2025 Tom Rankin Memorial game.
A signed ball from both Leamington and Coventry will be up for grabs, with tickets being sold at the ground.
On the fundraiser update for Tom's Memorial game on Sunday 27 July at Your Co-op Community Stadium, we have already smashed through the £500 target and sit on over £1000 raised without a ball being kicked! For more details on the memorial game and the link to the fundraising page, click here.

Tickets
You can purchase tickets online and on the gate. We recommend using our online ticketing portal to purchase your tickets in order to minimise queues at the turnstiles. On the day one turnstile will be signed for online tickets so you can easily scan your ticket and gain entry and another turnstile will be accepting card and cash payments.
Adult: £12
Over 60: £8
Student: £6
Under 18: £3
Under 12: £0
There is no price increase on the gate. Season ticket holders get free entry to this game, with your name on the gate.

Car Parking
Car parking for 2025 pre-season is completely free to all!
For those coming to the Your Co-op Community Stadium for the first time, please note that although there is ‘ON-SITE’ parking for approximately 370 vehicles, there is NO alternative ‘on-street parking’, as we are located on a busy country road with no pavements and surrounded by farmland.

Facilities
Your Co-op Community Stadium has facilities to please everyone! There is a burger van in the tunnel corner of the ground, serving hot food and drinks with cash & card accepted.
If you don’t feel like hot food but want something to snack on, then Debbie’s Sweet Shop is the place to go. Hot drinks and cold snacks (including a wide selection of sweets) are all available from the sweet shop which you can find at the Harbury Lane End side of the ground, but please note this is cash only.
Alcohol can be consumed on the terraces at our ground, and you can purchase it from our clubhouse which is situated in between the Harbury Lane End stand and Debbie’s Sweet Shop.
The ground is covered on three of the four sides, as you walk in up from the turnstiles the covered Harbury Lane End behind the goal will be on your right. Straight ahead of you is the joint Main Stand and Car Park Terrace on the west side of the ground, on the Sheepside side of the ground sits the Mick Brady Stand, in honour of our Life President who passed away in 2020 and the North Bank behind the goal is the uncovered side.

Clubhouse
The clubhouse can be used by both sets of fans and boasts a wide range of drinks, including local Warwickshire Church Farm Brewery products.
Both Leamington and Coventry City fans are welcome in the bar.

Player Sponsorship
Simon Davies will once again be in the bar pre-match, as we only have a few player sponsorships left to sell! He will also have Brakes Lottery forms so supporters can take part in another vital way of raising money for the club with big monetary prizes available!
Jack Edwards will be available to sponsor for Friday's game for £50 with all sponsorship money from supporters sponsoring Jack going to the Campaign Against Living Miserably.

Bus Travel
There is no 665 bus due to this game being a midweek fixture.
Turnstiles Opening Time
Turnstiles and all facilities inside the ground including the clubhouse open at 6pm.

Live Coverage
Match updates can be found on our social media channels. There is no commentary for this game.

We hope everyone enjoys their time at Your Co-op Community Stadium.

He did yep. I know his dad, that's why I was asking but not seen him for some time and not seen his name on the website. I assume he'd be first year scholar now but perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself. Reckon he'd be about 16. He got to England U15 squad and some Cat 1's were after him so didn't know if he'd been poached. Hopefully he stays and makes it with us.
