Transfer Rumour Tyrhys Dolan (40 Viewers)

We were in League 2 when Mcnulty had his little purple patch and scored 23 league goals (2017-18) which is the 4th tier of English football, (the lowest league you can get to before playing part timers such as Tamworth, as you correctly pointed out)

He basically grabbed the first offer that came along, and sold his career, it went down hill from there on in.
He should have stayed and proved himself in League 1 and then the championship, he'd of continued to improve under Robins (imho) and could of been a very decent player.
Reading was a strange decision, as they were already on the decline, and although they offered more money, his career trajectory was a disaster from there on in.

Instead he ended up bumming his way around the Scotish and Irish leagues.
I hope he made some money out of Reading, but in private, he must surely regret leaving when he did.
He could of been a massive part of our revival, and who knows, could even have partnered Gyokeres in the play off final at Wembley 😍
Instead he was playing for Orange County 🤷‍♂️
He’d have massively increased his wages going to Reading though. At the time it was probably a life changing amount for him. The way his career has gone kind of suggests that he wouldn’t have been as successful in League One.

Still waiting for you to prove how you know this. A few people here, with decent track records, have said we were in for him. I know who I choose to beleive

Why does it hurt you so much that we’ve not expressed interest in Tyrhys Dolan this year?

Nixon gets some stuff right and some stuff wrong.

KKH, Rudi, Sheaf all correct from him, many others haven't been.... as with most journos hes a mouthpiece for the agents/clubs he gets on with and they'll feed him information to suit their agendas
He was the only person to report Adaramola too. Incredibly forgettable player but Nixon did call it.

Oh wait who for broke the KKH rumour ? What happened to him ?
He didn't break anything, it was all over the Internet.

Every single season without fucking fail, Alan Nixon links us (and every other club) with countless players, he does it by looking at areas where clubs need to strengthen, and then guesses who might be available, there's absolutely fuck all in it than that, he then haa the brass neck to charge people to be first to hear his bullshit, and numerous dick heads fall for it.

Did he break the Brau story?? No
Did he break the kKH story?? No

Wait for him to.link us to a CH or striker next, (once it's already on the net)

Transfer rumour merchants like Nixon are pretty dubious journalists to say the least, but it’s silly to suggest they don’t have any insight or break any stories to do with us.

Journalists like Nixon have worked as leading football journalists in the UK for 40 years. We may not always like the written press but the idea they are not credible is silly in an era of social media bloggers from their bedroom. I know who I would trust to have better contacts in the game ….

It doesn't hurt me at all. You just can't back up what you say with actual facts. If you can prove where we are not interested in Dolan then fine but as normal you post bollocks as fact.

There were people on here who posted "villa mates" talking about us to sign KKH before Nixon did.

He can be right and he can also be very wrong.

His reporting on Derby was some of the worst there has ever been if I recall.

My favourite Nixon episode was when he touted us as being after Billy Sharpe and Turner from the CET asked the clun who said flat out "No" and Nixon got all pissy. It was just a gent giving him names to try and generate more interest and lots of his stories will be that much like Ornstein and Romano's are but with league 1 players.

Just like you can’t prove that we are. This is so so funny.

Journalists are very good at crowing about the stories they broke, whilst conveniently forgetting about all the bullshit rumours they got wrong. They talk so much shit the law of averages says they will get one or two right.

Years ago he was very decent for our transfer stories. Michael Rose and Godden he was also first to report on. Since he moved to Patreon he has become worse. Clearly has a retainer with certain agents and the relationship works to benefit both him and the agents.

What nonsense.

has it ever crossed your mind that not every player we enquire about we then go onto to try to sign, or those we try to sign we actually get ??

Just because a rumour doesn’t end up with the player signing doesn’t mean therefore that there was no truth in the rumour ….

Neither does it mean there was any truth so I'd check yourself before you start accusing people of talking nonsense.

I get people don’t like Nixon because he puts his stories behind a pay wall but he is a reputable journalist.
I find it slightly amusing how some people have a go at his 'useless information' as being 2nd rate yet moan about having to pay to see the same information.

I’m talking Nationally not just about us. The amount of rumours and links journalists come out with, they aren’t all failed targets, there is a hell of a lot of speculation and guess work. You obviously believe all the daily spiel they have been spouting about Gyokeres.

Close thread

Samsunspor have made significant progress in their pursuit of Tyrhys Dolan.

All conditions are being pushed to the limit. The parties are very close to an agreement.
