Godden has not been much use when he has played apart from robins trusts him ,but think walker could offer the same output plus more. With Viktor not guaranteed to be here next season we could use walker next year.

I highly doubt he’d sign a new contract.

Don’t agree Godden is far better and a player who takes up defenders.
Walker doesn’t suit our style of play and one tap in the last minute of a 4-0 drubbing doesn’t make him a better bet than Godden, he’s okay using him as Robins does but if that changes then I hope he proves me wrong.

He links up better with Vik than Godden - Godden has also been anonymous recently.

What evidence is there to suggest he links up better with vik ?

A 4th back post goal against a team that were dead in the water ?

IMO, he links up better with him generally compared to Godden and they complement each other better, despite having had less opportunity to play together. Godden has also been anonymous in recent games.

Rubbish, how many minutes has Walker played alongside Vik in the last month bet it’s not thirty.

Not sure Walker is up to the kind of cross Godden has in his armoury like the one he fed Vik against Sunderland or Fulham last year

Sick Boy laughs , but the manager has kept walker out the team for a huge chunk of his time here .. there is no evidence to back up his claims

Be nice if Tyler could repay some of his fee with some performances however

I agree but it's clutching at straws if Godden's inclusion is based on a cross from last season. Godden has what? 4 goals in this season? I'm not sure he deserves to keep his place in the side based on recent form - based on yesterday, Walker deserves a start.

Last season ? Let's be fair , it's another injury hit season granted , but he literally assisted vik against Sunderland ?

I'm not even suggesting godden start , I'm just laughing at our fans lauding a striker that's done fuck all for the club and been sent out on a failed loan to a League below .

It's the same all the time with Matty though , had to prove himself initially over the biamou lovers to fire us to become league 1 champions .

Matty runs and closes down he's done fuxk all , Walker does it for 5 minutes he's rejuvenated

In truth you’d release both at the end of the season. Goddens age and injury history are against him now

Again though .. The argument doesn't lie with me , it lies with the manager , who despite the expertise on SBT about a player he sees train every day of the year .. continues to not pick him to start

I'm more than happy to have godden be a squad player at coventry and I'd imagine that will be the case , despite his barren run his championship return is decent at around 1 in 3 ..
The fact vik has excelled to levels nit seen here for decades makes most strikers look shite in comparison , we won't get another vik

We could do alot worse

I guess people have some sympathy with him. A lot of strikers Robins signs seem to just be signed with zero thought what to do when he have. He’s signed duds but also players who can clearly get goals but were never used in the way they got goals - Walker joint Chaplin and Clarke Harris in that list

It was an easy cross, just a simple pass. At least, it was when Jamie Allen did it eh shmmeee ?

Let's look at the evidence though grendel , he allowed walker to go to pompey to try and get some form or maybe secure a move and he scored 1 in 15 in a playoff hunting team and ended up on the bench even there .. it's not a Robins thing it's a walker thing

Godden arguably is in the side too early after injury due to the manager seeing him as reliable - it's the same blessing / curse as Dabo, isn't it?

So Walker looking more effective than Godden atm doesn't mean Godden is a failure, does it? It just means on current form / fitness, Godden looks more effective as a sub in the last half hour, rather than the other way round.

Goddens best spells at this club came playing as a lone striker .. unfortunately he's never going to get in ahead of vik now, vik seems to flourish in a 1 or a 2 doesn't matter

More effective ? He's played 40 minutes and scored at the back post against a team 3 down..

What form ? He's played 40 minutes

Mental this is , godden literally assisted the winner against Sunderland where in the match ratings he played well ..

Walker hasn't really been given a fair crack though in my opinion... I think that's the view of a lot of fans who see walkers ability and wonder why he doesn't play as much as Godden who 75% of the time is anonymous.

As for 'done fuck all for the club' he was an important player in our first season back in the championship who contributed greatly to our survival.

Yeah it's all well and good saying '
Walker is talented he just hasn't had a fair crack of the whip, but there's a reason he hasn't had much game time - he hasn't been good enough when he has played.

That being said, I would start him over Godden next game.

Hasn’t exactly worked out for Walker. Godden has always seemed to struggle without O’Hare but I wouldn’t think twice about choosing him over Walker.

75% anonymous .. ridiculous slander of the lad isn't it really ?

His goal return after 100 games is 1 worse than vik

It's not really slander, it's an observation of his game. I like Godden and think he's been a brilliant player for us but feel that based on his recent performances someone else could be given a chance.

Hmm, just had a look at Godden’s goal ratio. 36 goals in 91 games.

Too old, too slow, no good? I’ve seen worse, as others cite in this thread.

Walker still only 26. I want him to succeed. Robins choices/ setup worked yesterday and may well be the way to go if Walker is to succeed. Gyokeres has a target on his back and the other striker/sub takes some of the pressure off him.

No one is doubting his contribution in League One - he was essential in our promotion season.

Ofcourse its fair enough , problem we have as coventry fans is we now look at vik as the standard when in reality he's way above the standard .. no striker will look great here for some time I'd imagine against viks last 18 months
