Well new footage has appeared and the man is not brandishing a gun. He has a phone in his hands.

The goons ask him to stop filming, he refuses, a scuffle breaks out and then the man is pinned down by 3 or 4 of them.

He's then shot multiple times. It's murder.

And there is absolutely NO justification to fire that many shots at someone. It's an execution, simple as, emboldened by Trump and his cronies defence of the previous incident with Good. They feel totally untouchable and above the law and this kind of thing is only going to occur more often and more blatantly as Trump etc. defend them.

And arguably that's what he wants as it gives him the excuse to suspend civil liberties and rights and impose federal (i.e. his) rule on places that don't agree with him. It won't be long before we start hearing noises about the need to suspend midterms (especially in blue areas) because of unrest caused by his vigilante thug gangs (which I think I'm going to start calling Orangeshirts).

Ask yourself this - if our own law enforcement or government agents starting walking around with facemasks on and refusing to wear ID or bodycams, would you think "well there's some upstanding people who are trying to improve our community"?

I agree with the amount of shots fired, it is extremely excessive. Again though, we don't know the context. If he had a gun and starts wrestling around and fighting, many law enforcement officers have been killed this way dealing with criminals. They are not going to hesitate in shooting you for that reason. When they shoot you, they will do so to make sure you aren't getting up. It isn't just a warning.

What we do know is that law enforcement do not fuck around in the US. If someone thinks it is ok to wave a gun around (with or without a permit) and expect nothing to happen, then that is ridiculously naive. It's easy to get outraged online, but it is not the real world. America is a shit show in that regard, and it is extremely irresponsible for people whipping up others by telling them to resist or that kicking off is ok. We are going to see more people killed. This is not the UK where you might get pepper sprayed or hit with a baton. You are in all likelihood getting shot, and it is game over.

And no, I would not like to see these practices in the UK. I think we need to be a lot tougher on immigration, but that doesn't mean what they are doing is going the right way about it. I have said many times that I do not agree with many of their behaviours and tactics, and I do actually think (whether this is relevant in this situation or not is too early to tell) Trump is enabling this significantly by making this department largely unaccountable.

Ordinarily I would agree, but this kind of thing is, unfortunately, important to see. It gives context and an alternative view to a government trying to cover up its crimes.

Exactly. You have no idea that he was a threat to life. But you're working on the assumption that you want, that he had a gun and therefore could have been considered a lethal threat by the agents. Every reply you've made has made the point about a gun, yet it's very unclear whether there was a weapon at all, and if there was he could have been carrying it perfectly legally and not brandishing it.

Your fitting the narrative to what you want it to be just as much, if not more, as others.
