I predict a loan LCB and a wide scale meltdown about how Doug has pocketed the Hamer money.
I don't see why any club would send another centre back our way on loan when they're most likely going to be behind Lati and Binks for that position. They're not going to gamble on injuries. I think we will sign another CB permanently, probably right footed and Lati and Binks will cover the left side

So you want a "specialist" RWB to sit on his arse and do nothing just as cover. Obviously he isnt going to get pissed off right?
I’m not sure why you thing that is a ridiculous thought.

They would come on most matches with 20-30 mins to go, play when we rotate/ injuries / suspensions etc

We have 4 strikers now and expect them to be broadly happy to compete.

The issue is I think that a club are unlikely to send us a loan player to fulfil that role but it wouldn’t stop us acquiring a young under study to Milan.

I don’t think we will but the idea isn’t crazy/

It’s a judgement call.

we can absolutely manage if Milan plays most matches, and Tats or Eccles steps in for the occasional match.

we can manage when we are at home and Milan tires and Tats comes on for the last 20

IF however Milan gets an injury that keeps him out for some time, or frankly isn’t the player we hope he is, then neither Tats or Eccles or Joel are an effective attacking RWB solution on a regular basis.

That not something we should think about this season or even next. MR doesn't write off players like that, thankfully. I understand where you are coming from regarding if he gets injured. Though I can't see how we could get another RB in thats better than we have in reserve that would be happy to know they are 2nd choice.

If we can get a LCB and either a CM or AM in before the deadline. We would have had an amazing window.

Id be surprised if it was a defender, Bidwell can cover both left sided defensive options so it would only be if he is sold. If we are spending any more it will have to be in midfield, O'Hare will not be up to speed straight away and Palmer does suffer injuries so a creative type would be my option as I don't think Ayari will play that much, MR often bought Vik off the bench in his loan spell if you remember. I would like it to be loans so he can get a good look at them over the next 10 months with an option to buy rather than just spaffing the money up front.

If he’s not a first teamer there’s no point signing him anyway. But we literally has two loan LCBs all last season. We need a left footer in there. We saw with Hyam what a right footer does. If Binks isn’t up to scratch/speed we need someone else.

Strange he's called a defender to be announced today, only strong links are Brekalo or Kitching, both of which haven't progressed in any way so far, can only see Panzo maybe?

Don't chat shit though. We don't have more cover than other positions. Unless saka truly is a wingback.otherwise it's makeshift cover.

I don't mind budget being used elsewhere just think it's funny people say the one position we may only have one true option is the most well stocked.

Of the three, only Latibeaudiere has played most games centrally. And he’s still played 40% of games at WB.

Sakamoto is the back up RWB whether people like to admit it or not. Both Eccles and Latibeaudiere are experienced RWBs.

Of the 3 more Robins wants are we expecting CB, CM and ST?

I would guess he'll want a perm CB and CM with the ST being a loan. That would leave us with 2 free loan spots, possibly for Jan to boolster due to injuries through the season?

I agree I'd rather have 2 left footers there. I just can't see a side loaning another left footed centre back to us. Binks currently isn't in the side and Panzo hardly played for the second half of last season. Lati also looks a lot more comfortable there than Hyam ever did on that side

Isn't Lati normally right sided ?

Yeah normally. Just saying he's done fairly well at LCB so far

He’s been worrying for me.

I’d like to see us sign a left footer to start LCB, Binks can back him up and Lati can be cover for Thomas/Fadz.

Preferably a permanent deal but a quality loan would be fine.

Total waste of a loan, we have enough cover there, Eccles, Sakamoto, even a CH could cover. Intfact we have so much cover we could even send Burroghs out on loan.

Not to mention how unfair it would be to ask a young ambitious Premier league player, to come here and sit on the bench for a season with the odd chance of 15 minutes here and there.

Crazy idea.

You might want to read the post before commenting ….. I’m not suggesting a loan at all.

I've noticed that when the rumours dry up, folk on here start to get proper narky and take it out on each other.
