Transfer targets (23 Viewers)

I'm very interested to see how much of the Hamer money will be invested in new players .
We might be holding back because clubs might be asking for inflated fees as they know we’ve got a bit of cash.

The source I had for it is in day to day contact with the players

There is of course confidentiality and disclosure regulations. Which is often why clubs don't say much about players injuries as it can impact on their futures.

A medical might throw up concerns for one club but maybe seen as a lesser problem for another?

Or he’s offered a contract that accounts for the medical condition

Expecting the next 10 days to be absolutely ridiculous in the transfer market. Expect to see us linked with players all over the place for inflated prices. Starting to think hanging tight and just bringing in a couple of loans might not be the worst idea.
I think that is broadly right but there are always clubs whose owners want money and cave in near the end of any window. We have been at the club in the past with Players like Maddison.

It’s like a big game of chicken ….. for those of a certain vintage !

Suspect if we get Kitching this might be the case. A very late deal.

Seems that story about the failed medical wasn't true. According to the local rag Charlton have offered him a contract but he's got other offers on the table so is training with them while he decides
That would be good

better to buy in the summer than January but I agree to not paying over the odds

Wonder if we’re playing the game abit with Kitching, if his head is turned by our interest and his performances have suffered as people have said Barnsley probably dont want to keep an unhappy player.

Yes all sorts of possibilities and variables in any footballers career. The point I perhaps was clumsily trying to point out was aimed at fans. They understandingly want information on players, injuries and timescales etc.,

But within that information is a person and an individual. It is not a simple open forum for football clubs. We as individuals would not want our employers just opening up on our personal health and sickness record to the rest of the workforce let alone the public in general.

Sakamoto has played twice as many games out wide as at AM in his career.

Latibeaudiere has played 40% of his games out wide.

Eccles has started more games at RWB than any other position.

Exactly how specialist are we looking for? A PhD?
Still not specialists and you know it

Also have some shame. You argued with everyone that saka wasn't a wing back a month ago

No you’ve got me confused. I said he was. Then when we signed MvE said he possibly wasn’t signed for there as priority. Since seeing him play TBH I’m back to my original decision. Hes a wide man through and through.

Drop it. Our budget is better spent elsewhere.
Don't chat shit though. We don't have more cover than other positions. Unless saka truly is a wingback.otherwise it's makeshift cover.

I don't mind budget being used elsewhere just think it's funny people say the one position we may only have one true option is the most well stocked.

It is though. Even if we did sign another it's doubtful they even make the bench

Would someone like Norton-Cuffey come here to play second fiddle though?
It would be up to him to win the right back spot back. Although I think he could develop into a cm very impressed with his engine he's just a bit raw but could develop into a super player

It’s a judgement call.

we can absolutely manage if Milan plays most matches, and Tats or Eccles steps in for the occasional match.

we can manage when we are at home and Milan tires and Tats comes on for the last 20

IF however Milan gets an injury that keeps him out for some time, or frankly isn’t the player we hope he is, then neither Tats or Eccles or Joel are an effective attacking RWB solution on a regular basis.
