You can argue that none of the ex-Chelsea signings have been all that effective. Dabo has been the best one by miles, if that tells you anything. It’s a limited strategy that can only ever get you so far.If we bang the ex Chelsea drum for every signing, it doesn't look great for our scouting efforts.

I'd say Maatsen and Clarke-Salter were successes last year though
No doubt Maatsen has gone on to do well this season but I don't really get this view. Bidwell has been a pretty steady Eddie in the wingback role. I think aside from Maatsen's two goals he scored playing in the attacking midfielder role, Bidwell and Maatsen's output has been nearly identical (1 goal, 1 assist I think).We never replaced Maatsen

I think Bidwell is an upgrade on Maatsen at this time, he was either hit or cold when he was here and got caught inside too often with the ball over his head. Bidwell is a steady player never a 9/10 but rarely a 5/10. I would have Bidwell as captain as well.
