I did it in my profession. Why wouldn't anyone else? Let someone else do all the work. Sure Kompany and proximity to Manchester were factors, but were they looking at him until Burnley realised he was coming to us? Possibly not if we had got to the medical stage.

The main aim I think has always to bring in 3 players that could compete and hold their own in the first eleven
Centre back
Attacking midfielder Palmer
Striker

They will have a pool of players for each of these positions , JCS they never thought it could happen but then got some positives signals , the Man City defender I understand was all ready to go today but as soon as Burnley came in that was that
There are a lot of clubs that want their players to join us , the fact Man City are one these is great news , still expect a bit of movement next week

Then I think they will bring in 2/3 fringe players
Will the fringe players go into the 23s allowing some players to step up like Tavares, Howley and J.Burroughs?

How would they have even known about our interest?

Kompany will have known about him already and his decision to make a move will have been completely independent from our interest even if he had known. Let's face it he would have known more about this player than we do and would trust his own judgement over ours anyway.

By fringe, do you mean U23 or gambles from abroad or what?

I guess they’ll be first team players to fill out the squad for a busy early period

Do you know the positions for the fringe players? Feels like we need a RWB (assuming Kane is frozen out), another CB and a LWB.

Maybe, but that's what agents do. Ring around last minute see if they can get a better deal and up their percentage. That is how the world works. I don't have a clue what happened, but if I was working in this business I would look at how Coventry have unearthed so many gems and how Forest had such a brilliant loans policy with Cooper and keep an eye on what they were doing. Business is cutthroat, football even more so.

I’ve just seen Kane’s latest post and seen the caption and it had me thinking as it said “one shot for the TK”, if he tried getting with Fadz Mrs then it would only take one shot for the TKO

Maybe when they look at Hamer, Shsaf, O'Hare and Gyokeres, but then again would they not be worried that he might be another Hillsner, Dacosta, Kastaneer or Jobello? Or Wagehorn?

Sorinola a possible option at left back has returned to the UK moving to Swansea on loan (under his old manager) after a failed stint in Belgium

If Jodi Jones can stay injury free he'd be an excellent signing for any team in league 1. That's the risk, if he can stay fit. I really hope it works out for him, there's a part of me that wanted him to get another year here.

One thing worth remembering/taking into account, is that the transfer window, ridiculously shuts seven games into the season!!!!!

They’ve had a massive overhaul; deliberately let contracts of about 9 players wind down and capped their wages at £12k a week. Theyre also hoping Joe Ralls will renew on reduced terms.
Expect them to sign more as the only strikers they’ve got are a couple of youngsters - Davies and Harris - and James Collins, whom they want rid of for obvious reasons.

Would've loved us to go for Rinomhota. Think he is a top top player. Probably not a position we need desperately though unless Hamer goes

Think the gulf in the league will be wider this season. The likes of Middlesbrough, Cardiff, WBA all bringing in top champ players, and then of course the relegated teams with their parachute payments. Then a number of clubs on shoestring or having to lose players to survive. Think we will be relatively safe in the bottom half of that, but the gap between us and the playoff area will be greater. Still think that's positive, as long as we stay in the league we are getting more solid and losing more deadwood and improving gradually.

Cardiff won't be top half. Other than Rinnohmota they've brought in very ordinary players

I imagine next summer will see a lot of turnover here with several big sales and the remaining unwanted high earners moved on. We’ll tread water this season and probably finish in a similar position or a bit lower. Which is fine if Robins can again rework that same Chanel dress

I know it’s been done to death, but is James Collins on a low basic plus apps plus goals bonus worth a punt to cover Vik?
