That actually varies by his altitude at the time, it's 761mph at sea level but drops a lot the higher you get.


e: worked it, out, at 100,000 feet it's 684mph, at his speed he hit Mach 1.066.

Apparently that was down to his visor fogging up apparently, he couldn't see his altitude properly.

This was truly amazing. I did start to panic that I might witness a man plummet to his death when he started to spin. Glad he landed safely.

I was watching the space shuttle once and I said to my Dad, "I wish I could be shot into space!"

He hit 833.9 MPH, Mach 1.24, that's absolutely incredible.
